Hi all, my first post here and also my first ever zoids kit bash custom. Hopefully i can pull this off. I got bitten suddenly by the zoids bug and woke up one day deciding to build this. My fire further exploded when saw the ridiculously awesome Eradicator that maethius built. that was ultra crazy. So here i am taking a break and i decided to document my build log here if its ok. Im currently still in the design/ mock up phase where everything is just hot glued on for a visual. I know there will definitely be peeps angry at me for using what i used to build this lol but, i sure hope the final product is well worth the kill. You see, I'm trying to build a werewolf type zoid. A liger / werewolf hybrid. I know this aint some proper animal but i just had to do it lol. So heres a few pics of what i have currently. So the goal was to have ligers built to have this werewolf body type. but this is my first build. i have limited skills. so I'm afraid i may not be able to do full articulation mods and such. i Would try and if thats something i can grasp along the way, i wanna make this beast a really epic one. i proceeded to source for various 2nd hand / loose cat based voids models. Currently i have the energy liger, murasame liger ( chill guys..this one had broken parts ) , ligerzero phoenix , bristle tiger, Rayse tiger. I just got another loose death stinger today but heres a shot of them before they were butchered. SO on to my build. this is what i currently have as a mock up. heres a shot with the forearms. this beast s gotta have chunky forearms for the raw power that its gonna be wielding Still toying with the tighs and legs but i guess its gonna get quite big for this guy . trying out all the parts to see what fits and how it sizes up.

that head and neck posture looks fantastic but I would not give it a thigh THAT big. That's just getting ridiculous. If you were going to go with this leg scale, A) you'd want something big for the shin as well, and B) you'd need a bigger head (something on Gojulas Giga scale). I really reccommend you make the foot part only the front half of that brastle limb, use something smaller for a thigh, and generally just keep proportions in mind.. because this is going to be a BEAUTIFUL kitbash.

Totally love where this build is going! You are doing a great job matching up the proportions and stance. Never bat an eye that a custom isn't a standard animal; there have been contest winners that were hydras, Minotaur, or Cerberus. Besides, there are official dragons, a Pegasus (well, pegacorn!), and a gargoyle. Build what you like!
On whether or not your custom is articulated, I would say don't worry about that, either. Many great customs just strike a pose for the camera; some are even a static part of a diorama. Sometimes joints can be handy, though. My family managed to fleece the online and offline world for more than a year after Mega Bloks cancelled their Struxx line just so I could stockpile hundreds of those ball joints; they are the biggest, strongest, and best looking ones I know if! (there is a new toy line that uses a similar joint, but the ball is perforated like Swiss cheese and it looks terrible; especially since they are in bright, garish colors).
Thanks for the kind words on Eradicator, too. Even though he was three builds ago, I consider that custom a shining moment in my career. ^_^

Has a sort of Transformer feel to it... the original ones I mean, not the crappy movie ones.

I love the pose. It looks as though it is about to leap for it's prey. Loving it so far. Would be cool to do a metallic midnight blue color scheme. To look as though it is glistening in the moonlight. Or just do a deep dark silver and use a blue bulb in s photo shoot to simulate the moonlight. :-)

Btw.....would using the body of a helcat be a good substitute for the thighs.

I love those arms!! It reminds me of the awesome movie transformers!
yeah helcat body would be a much better scale for the thighs. Give it a try.

Honestly, I think the thunder thighs look good! XD I'm a (rookie) creature concept artist and find some disproportion can be very effective in making cool, unique designs. If you still want to go for the Helcat bodies, by all means, but the Murasame bodies would make an equally interesting figure. Everything looks really great so far! Will be awesome whichever way you go!

I'm loving this build so far, especially with how werewolf-y the upper body looks. I don't necessarily have a specific suggestion for parts but I do recommend doing a photo chop to see if Helcat would work before buying one. It has noticeable dips in both the stomach line and the back, so you'll have odd curves pulling in, instead of muscles bulging out. These would need to be filled for that werewolf aesthetic.

Those proportions are working much better~ If you really want to go for that muscular look it might be worth sticking some kind of piece over the inwards dip on the back of thigh, giving it some extra butt fluff to fill it out~
