Another one has landed. Like Deadborder, I never had this one MIB. It was even the last OJR I got, 15 years ago, to complete the regular serie. Lionel

Those beautiful beasts.. I'm a sucker for zoids that follow established color schemes for their factions.

Yeah, I tracked down every single one of the Black/Green Guylos ltds when they came out because I do love them so much. Still missing the OJR Heldi, though. I think that's the only one.

Hello fellow Zoiders! I hope everyone had a happy Christmas, and I hope you'll all have a great New Year too. These are grabs for the week...ugh I've become a massive Zoid sl*t lately lol. I've been after that Geno and that HMM book for years, the Iquan happened because sale, and the Stinger, well how could I not?

Sorry in advance for long post! My first Zoids get in a while. I technically also have the Death Stinger sitting at Celga, but I am waiting for something else to arrive before shipping. The Ugly: My first impressions of the Genesis blu-rays was pretty bleh. Unlike the CC/GF/NC0/Fuzors one, they were really grainy. Compared to CC (left), some of the grainy moments. This was a huge let down because, IMO, Genesis is the most aesthetically beautiful of the series. It may not have the best animations but if you're looking for pretty artsy crap (I am) it is amazing for screenies and stuff. Not so much with this grit. * This is also a minor point of frustration for me because I like to take BR screenies for my site. I 'can' edit them to get rid of the grit fairly easy but don't want to misrepresent the blu-ray quality on my site, so ... Maybe I'll just make a page specifically for "these are digitally cleaned up." The Good (?) : This isn't that bad for all scenes. Unfortunately, it DOES last for many of the 'important' scenes. Last screenie is what I had HOPED most of them would look like. There are some very nice scenes like this. (Please do not pay attention if the lines look funny. I was periodically adjusting deinterlace settings so some of them are wonky.)The Fun: It seems Genesis has made some aesthetic changes to the animations for a few scenes. The only ones I noticed were the last episode but I haven't watched any episodes through yet. I'll be comparing them to the old subbed version and, for the ones I have, my DVDs. I'm interested to know from someone that has the DVDs, are these what they look like on the last volume? (I'm interested to know, is the 'aired version' different from the dvd version?) * The Blu-Rays have no subs or closed captioning. The left images are from old subbed files I have on my computer. I would compare to DVD but I only have the Hayate Liger box (holding out for cheap clear Mugen/Murasame.) That's about the end of it. I'll maybe post more opinions at a later date when I get to watching the others. I just watched my favorite scenes for the most part since I gotta do a proper review later anyway. A big thanks to Vig, who was kind enough to test his Blu-rays on several devices (BR Player, PS4, Ripped to computer to bypass slow cord connections) to ensure that this isn't just an issue with my computer. I greatly appreciate the amount of effort that went into helping to confirm this!

(I'm interested to know, is the 'aired version' different from the dvd version?) Yeah, the change was between broadcast and DVD versions. Actually, I recently found a diary entry on Zoikino that mentioned differences between the broadcast and DVD versions of Chaotic Century episode 34, so now I'm curious... I did wonder if broadcast differences might have something to do with threads like this not quite matching the episodes I'd seen, but now I suspect Drk-X was basing his info on a second-hand (and unreliable) source.

Thanks for the info! Ahh, guess I can't delete all those old subs now! Well then. It should be fun to play spot the difference with another series. Fuzors was ... an ordeal, to say the least. Hopefully Genesis is a tad bit less of a burn out!
