Having collected for many years, I can safely assert that Hasbro has no idea what they're doing. But I'm glad Americans can buy Zoids more easily now! Even if I really think the remolding makes Spideath look a lot more toyish and offmodel. As it is I feel like the entire Wild line is just "please customize us into something else and pretend we're 1/72"

This US Zoider is sure happy about some Zoids state-side. Also am totally open to see some TT Zoids for sale at prices like we saw in the NJR, as well, though sadly, some of those shops are no longer with us, but there is hope! We'll probably just have to agree to disagree about Phobia versus Spideath. ^^ I asked my OJR Twinhorn what he thought about Phobia's body halves, and his response was, "well, what are you gonna say about my body halves--that I am a toy?" I do my best to keep Twinhorn happy, because his stomp is much worse than his bite. I am certain as I look at ZW Zoids, and their fantastic design, that there might be a place for them in 1/72...in fact, Zoids Wild Senki gave us the plot line for that to happen, if one looks close enough at the story moments. ^^ That said, today, I closed the gap on my NAR/NJR collection with these guys. I always liked how Saberlion and Guntiger featured "each other" in the Tomy box cover art. ^^ Grounchar may yet mole his way into my personal project, as a side story. Can't wait to build these guys!

Ahhh the SS zoids. What an interesting concept and mixture of ideas. small size, open cockpits, unique pilots.. lots of flexibility, yet also lots of rigidity on some of the odder ones. VERY odd animal choices in some places (an echidna is weird enough, but a longisquama??), and that neat kind of 'these go together' symmetry in their theming where each one's paired with another. I loved that, and it was perfect for the time they came out

I also find it interesting that unlike most of the OER lineup, that the last of the Zoids didn't have any color variants. You can tell at this point that Tomy was about to give up in Europe. Which is a shame, since the European line chose some of the best colorations in any release. The OER lineup's color choices were so handsome, and it would have been interesting to see which colors would have been for the European versions had the line hung in there. A red Shield Liger and Command Wolf, similar to Krark the Prince of Darkness? A Black and Grey Black Rhimos and Dimetrodon? There is a gap too, the 1987 OJR line wasn't released in Europe. The only one that was planed was Ultrasurus repaint in Red. I don't know what would have been done if they has released Storch, Twin Horn, Sea Panther, Double Sworder and Wardick. Imagine a black Twin Horn... Lionel I don't think we'll ever know what they would have done had the popularity of Zoids persisted enough to warrant the 1987 wave. But it is fun to imagine what they could have done. I imagine that Twin Horn would look good in black, but I'm not repainting mine. Even if I knew more than just how to do it theoretically, they are worth too much now. Storch would probably look good in black too. Poor Storch doesn't get enough love...

Just received these 2 Great Zoids...? today. I saw both of them sell as 1 lot on ebay earlier, and the sell said the Descat not able to walk, so I able to get it for a good deal. Zeek Dober is the OJR version and seem to me complete and no damage. It's also come with a manual but no box. Descat has box but no manual, also has 1 part with crack and 2 pins in the head broken... (Until I received this Descat, I completely forget how fragile this cat is...) Just for fun, Prototype Ice Blazer Some how I got a few extra pieces from Ice Blazer(sadly, not all the pieces). I also borrow 2 red pieces from the Rebirth Century Zeek Dober's front legs. PS. At first, I hope I can use Descat, to try to trade a Megatopros or King Baron. But I guess no one wants to trade a damage Descat?

I have been a proponent for taking out the motor - they do breakdown over time, and exchange it for more pose-ability and more sturdy with LED lighted eyes and heads. But then is that still Zoids to all fans? And of course, we must always have rivals!!! Ligers vs saber-tooth cats, big cats vs dinos, "godzilla" vs Kong... got have a battle story/lore to go with the line.

Just in, today. Trying to decide which one to start with first. ^^ Wow, Hasbro have decided to spend time and money on getting the money shot! Boy, when you looked at the NAR line, you gotta ask if Hasbro was ever serious about Zoids, ie. Shadow Fox had its gun barrel installed wrong, Koenig Wolf's smoke dispenser was flipped over to make look a mortar cannon, it look that they were not in communication with Tomy. I sure would to see Zoids make a good come back in the Western markets.

I think little mistakes like that are more incompetence and less a lack of caring. It's not really feasible under the western labor system to have someone know anything about what you're making well enough to notice mistakes, only the original designer can do that, and if they aren't working 90-hour work weeks until they just die, they can't approve every piece of photography for every product. you just hand it off to 'the photography department' and they do the bare minimum required to get their pay because they fully expect everything they're doing to fail due to executive decisions outside their control. Not to get all cynical

I sure would to see Zoids make a good come back in the Western markets. Yeah, the NAR sure had its share of "confusion." But it was nice to be able to go the store and buy a Zoid. Luckily, as I recall, the NAR's problems occurred mostly on the box, inside the box, it was all good, and that's where it always mattered for me, back in those days. I'd be happy with TT and Hasbro in the states, again. A few quick grabs from early last week just showed up. I bought Deadly Kong back around 2008...and 13 years later, I finally managed to get his weapon sealed in a well-worn box.
I'm not sure if I'll be in the market for a Lanstag, but if I am, I think I'm ready for it.
Blitz Sworder and Snipe Master were a super nice bonus and both MIB. I just need little Blitz Haken, and I'll have all three of the Dengeki Blox Releases.

With the Hasbro box art, it was a game of "which step did the photography team do wrong that day" Except for Energy Liger, which actually showed a prototype with a NINE BARREL gatling gun! And I hope that you have a Flexible Booster or Active Shield Unit lying around somewhere. He needs it! I love my Snipe Master. He's the last small brand new lineup windup of the NJR lineup, come to think of it. www.deviantart.com/jeszasz/art/Snipe-Master-872325920?ga_submit_new=10%3A1614972830

JES: I'm prett sure I have one or two of those CP-kits for use on SnipeMaster. ^^ This last week, I managed to close the gap on the NJR/NAR release with these guys, plus a Deantler bonus and a bonus Heldigunner.^^ A huge thanks to Skyknight here on Pheno's for these awesome Zoids! The quest continues!

if Hasbro's smart, they'll do what they did for iron kong back in the day, and start including CPs with the regular kits they go with, because in this day and age you are competing with the japanese version since all sales are online anyway

The Hasbro Wild releases do have the painted figure going for them. Unfortunately the first wave didn't have a CP, so Hasbro could at least complete the series and add other Zoids with their painted figures.
