I wouldn't be surprised; there are a lot of really advanced mechanisms in there, so it's hard to tell. I like how the old rubber caps seem to have been replaced with different sizes of actual locking pieces. It looks REALLY impressive. The real question is, is this a one-off or will there actually be a series now? Also, just me, or does this kit seem to be quite a bit larger than the original kit? If that pilot is still to 1/72 scale, this thing is a good 10% to 20% more massive. I hope not. Because I want the genosaurer:-). Don't care how overused it is...I would love to see it. Btw, has it been said what material this is made from?

I will take a Geno over a Liger any day.
Since I am already 90% sure I want a model from this new line, the question remains; Do I buy the Shield Liger or take a risk and wait for a different Zoid to get this treatment? I doubt I have the money or space for 2 of these.
I hope SOMETHING besides the armor requires assembly. I doubt it, but still...I don"t want the build to be boring.

Yeah it's huge compared to 'normal' 1/72 scale zoids.
I still wonder if this one can run like the prototype could. I also wonder if it has a controller?

If you actually measure things out, the original kits are fairly undersized to begin with. Closer to 1/80-something, from what I remember. I did some tests for something a while back. That's interesting. Apparently these companies all have their own interpretations of what 1/72 scale is. I'm excited to compare it to the other Shieldies. I hope SOMETHING besides the armor requires assembly. I doubt it, but still...I don"t want the build to be boring. The legs appear to require some assembly. Whether that means building them in their entirety or just attaching pre-built legs to the body remains to be seen.

Let's play a game... (Sorry if this comes off as too mean, I'm just poking fun) If you actually measure things out, the original kits are fairly undersized to begin with. Closer to 1/80-something, from what I remember. I did some tests for something a while back. That's interesting. Apparently these companies all have their own interpretations of what 1/72 scale is. I'm excited to compare it to the other Shieldies. "Apparently it's 39 centimetres long, so about halfway between Tomy and Yamato." "also 21.6m in 1/72 scale should be exactly 30cm" [The original Shieldy is about 33 centimetres, so it's still oversized. The "official" stats don't do a very good job of sticking to 1/72 - especially Ultrasaurus, which is supposedly exactly 50 metres long.] I only have one concern; do we even build this kit ourselves? This is REALLY exciting. Do we know what scale this is in? Pilot figure looks a lot like the HMM ones. "it includes 2 pilot figures, a 3-piece stand, 11 parts sprues and 3 different-sized cap sprues" "considering this line is meant to be 1/72 scale" I like how the old rubber caps seem to have been replaced with different sizes of actual locking pieces. It looks REALLY impressive. The real question is, is this a one-off or will there actually be a series now? Also, just me, or does this kit seem to be quite a bit larger than the original kit? "The rubber caps on each part have been changed into durable lock-style caps, so you can enjoy assembling and disassembling it with the designated tool s." "MPZ- 01 Shield Liger", "The first release is the lion-type Zoid Shield Liger" (Okay, so those last few were from a different post...) Btw, has it been said what material this is made from? "it includes 2 pilot figures, a 3-piece stand, 11 parts sprues and 3 different-sized cap sprues" I'm going to assume it's plastic The tail is supposedly built around "rubber material", although I haven't seen anything more specific. I still wonder if this one can run like the prototype could. I also wonder if it has a controller? Nope, no controller mentioned (although I'm not sure what the "mechanism box" is - could be the battery box, could just be the box everything comes in) and I'm pretty sure we only get the three actions shown in the video. Actually, let me just write out the complete list of box contents: Mechanism box (1), pilot figures (2), pedestal (base) (1), pedestal (stand) (1), pedestal (attachment) (1), cap wrench (1), runners A~K (11), S cap runner (1), M cap runner (1), L cap runner (1), L springs (2), R springs (2), labels (1), instruction manual (1) As for those unsure whether to get the Shield Liger or wait for a second kit, I'd recommend buying the Shieldy to help make sure the second kit actually gets sold

Oh god.. it's so beautiful.. if only I was extremely rich Actually I have to admit I'm slightly disappoint that the cockpit's joint is still depicted as glass. That's usually the first thing I 'fix' on kits to make them look more like the anime versions. Because why would something as durable as a joint be made of the colored cockpit glass?

The real question is, is this a one-off or will there actually be a series now? if it's anything like TT's TF Masterpiece line, there might be others but it will be a VERY slow-moving line. Only recently have MP TFs been coming out more than once a year. (edit: ugh some weirdness going on with proboards or something, when I went to view the 'last' post it brought me to the last page I'd posted on, not the actual last post...)

I was figuring the same; for that amount of complexity (and I'm assuming they used at least a few components from the Concept Art RC Liger) a kit every 18-24 months would be on the fast side. Hopefully it won't be as slow as the late PG though. Looks like the next "big" announcement's going to be in mid-May then mid-June, hopefully we'll get some box art at one of those? news.livedoor.com/article/detail/10046515/ (Edit: Looks like quoting's acting up?)

Preorders are up on Amazon, and they're including chromed fangs as a preorder bonus. Those are toy shows that it'll be displayed at (Shizuoka and Tokyo Big Sight), but there's still a decent chance we'll get new info then.

Is anyone in the US able to confirm if it can be ordered from Amazon Japan? I'm getting a 'Sorry, delivery unavailable to-' box. Normally it isn't a problem so a little confused?

I've only ever been able to get books shipped to me from Amazon Japan, and it's saying no delivery to my address, as well. The title says "preceding reservation privilege laser saber (chrome plated Ver) -(google translation)," which appears to be some kind of bonus for pre-ordering it from Amazon. Any idea what that is?
