Anyone knew what happened to the zoids d-style line? Kotobukiya might have put all new Zoids on hold, which would explain why we haven't seen D-Style in addition to HMM. Were the Dark Zoids originally sold in pairs or individually? Curious to ask of anyone's experience with the stk d-style zoids. I saw one of a deathsaurer and was looking to buy it. I have the real version. I wanted to get a cheap one to paint the dark zoid colors of the unreleased version. I wanted to know if they are somewhat similar in quality, or if someone actually bought the DS one. I have read that the bootleg blade and shield ligers shared the same issues as their legit releases, so that has me under the impression they are similar in quality, the Deathsaurer was a decent model kit. Also looking to ask what would be a good spray paint to match the neon green of the dark zoids. Edit: bought it since it was cheap, but still curious. Thanks for your time guys :-) I just bought an STK D-style model as well. What does the STK stand for? STK is the bootleg company, not sure what it stands for. I actually found most of the STK Blade Ligers to be better than the Koto quality, laughably. Koto quality for D-Style kits is just not good, until Shield Liger, IMO. I think this kit would do fine for a repaint. I did not notice much difference in quality for Deathy. Well it was only $12 plus shipping so I thought, why not? If it's horribly crappy I'm only out a few dollars. But now that I'm getting a blade liger, I really want to get a shield liger as well. Does anyone know the average price to pay for a D-style shield liger? I don't really care if it's bootleg or not. The cheapest I've found so far, including shipping, is $21 (http://www.amazon.com/ZOIDS-D-Style-Shield-Liger-Plastic/dp/B008RX55WK) Is this the best option? I bought an STK blade liger d-style, and it was awful... lol. Mine wouldn't never stay together, even with glue, the model cement didn't effect the plastic it was made out of. It now sits in every piece it can be in, in a bag, as it got knocked off the shelf, and of course, every single part fell off, lol. @helboundcrow : my STK DStyle Deathy is OK. and yes, the plastic is a little bit harder and loose some minor detail than original. but I think it's worth for repaint project. Let us know if you finishing these dark deathy since mine stuck in white base painting ( too much other project to handle ATM ) I bought an STK blade liger d-style, and it was awful... lol. I always re-check everything in front of my importer before buying my bootleg product. OR maybe you got later product of STK.. as you know, casting & molding process quality is gradually decrease if used too much.. my 5 STK liger is fine, and I intend to take picture of it all, but 1 repaint forest night is stuck in process just like those Deathy above I hope they make more D-styles one day. Liger Zero, Zaber Fang, Berserk Fury, and Dark horn would all look adorable as D-styles. I hope they make more D-styles one day. Liger Zero, Zaber Fang, Berserk Fury, and Dark horn would all look adorable as D-styles. I would absolutely love a D-Style Liger Zero and BF Well, it's by Kabaya who is known to make bootleg products. It isn't distinguishable as anything from Zoids but actually looks kind of interesting! I might pick one up for the fish. Alright I need advice on this one...... www.ebay.com/itm/121406687721?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648HMM Liger Zero current bid is about $25 with about $18 shipping.. The reason I'm weary is because the seller has 0 feedback and their username is just a bunch of random numbers... (9280686) I sent them a message earlier today and haven't gotten a response back. what do you guys think? It looks extremely suspect. Chances are it could be bootleg, or just a scam. If you want to give it a go be sure to pay by card or Paypal so that you can do a chargeback if something goes wrong. Curious; how long does it usually take for you guys to complete an HMM Zoid? For a first time and especially if you are going to make a holotech (damn I jealous!! lol) I would say maybe 15 hours for a long winded med-Zoid build. EDIT: That would be 15 with full detailing, so maybe not as long for a holo, but you sure would wanna take your time handling the pieces. Hellbound Crow I've bought a STK HMM Leena Gunsniper before (Still looking to get an official Koto one.) And It's pretty damn good but I tried painting some parts for a custom job for another Zoid with a silver paint marker and the plastic melted and crumpled to bits. I've used the same silver paint marker on official Koto plastic and it didn't melt so if you plan on painting that STK D-Style deathly be careful on the type of paint you use of you could melt the whole thing. ligerzero91 Depends on what model I'm building and if it's my first or second of the same type. My first Blade Liger took 3 Days on and off to build but my next two only took a day each. Liger Zero (My first HMM) took about 12 hours none stop. Command wolves, Gunsniper, Iquan all within a day each. Larger Zoids tend to take a day and a bit but smaller Zoids I can get pretty much done in a day. Water based acrylic paints should work fine on any plastics. The paint markers, I believe, are alcohol or acetone based, so i'm sure they melt some plastics. But after you paint a base of acrylics, and put a clear coat on it, you should be able to use enamels and possibly paint markers (depending on the base, if it will not react to the clear coat) over top of the paint layers, withoujt affecting the plastic. Alright I need advice on this one...... www.ebay.com/itm/121406687721?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 HMM Liger Zero current bid is about $25 with about $18 shipping.. (9280686) I sent them a message earlier today and haven't gotten a response back. what do you guys think? Was it you who ended up buying it? Just curious really... It seemed a little suspect so I held off.. if they would've gotten back to my email I would have though. Honestly I'm interested to see how that sale turns out so I had them in my watch list and I'm gunna check their profile in a couple weeks to see if a transaction // exchange actually goes through and what kind of feedback they get lol. It says takara tomy on the cover, and in the title, which means the seller was selling it as an official product. On Ebay, if you recieve a fake item, and it was sold as an official product, you get to keep the item, and get a refund, and the seller is potentially banned from ebay, depending on how bad the offense it. haha oh thanks Rhas, If I'd of known that I was would've just got it!!! its a win-win! jk though no worries only pullin your leg Are you 100% sure that's their policy? Cause if so that's a great little piece of information to know It's against ebay policies to deceptively sell, and on some levels sell at all, any fake products. So Typically, the buyer is not required to return the product if what is recieved is easily proven to be a counterfeit item. I'm sure there are instances where the buyer is required to ship the item back, but coming from China, the likelihood of having to ship it back is basically 0. When it comes to the question of what to do next, I have really no idea. That is to say in my model building life. I have been enjoying 1/35th scale armour building for the past year whilst I have been waiting for a new HMM to be released. Or even announced. I'm bored of 1/35th and I've been utterly itching to pick up a new Zoid. the question remaining for me is which one? Do I wait for a new one? (I'm not falling head over heels for the new red blade liger). So, I have shortlisted either the HMM liger Zero base armour or the HMM Lighting Saix Irvine. At the moment I'm swaying for the Saix, but I still don't know for sure. I was going to have a bash at building a dio for the one I buy too. Basically, I can't decide of my short listed Zoids and even then should I wait for a new HMM? Sorry for a long post, but if you can help me decide on what to do next, I'd appreciate it TBH I don't know this was the right place, so sorry if it isn't.

No page 19 either Finally got it! It never ends. It just keeps on going ;_;I hope they make more D-styles one day. Liger Zero, Zaber Fang, Berserk Fury, and Dark horn would all look adorable as D-styles. CO- SIGN. Needs more D-style darkspiner! I was wondering and wondered if anyone could help. Is there any CP parts for the HMM Dark Horn, HMM Harry Champ Special Dark Horn or the Red Horn? I haven't built my HMM Dark Horn yet and was wondering if there was any Koto CP for it I may wait a bit longer to build it till I got my hands on it. Does anyone have any examples of iconic Zoids with Black caps? In particular I'm curious if there are any examples of primarily white Zoids (limited or otherwise) with black caps. I'm just looking for some ideas for a custom color scheme and looking for some (stock) examples. Off the top of my head I can think of the Salamander, (Moonbay's) Gustav, Shieldy DCS-J and Shadow Fox. I was wondering and wondered if anyone could help. Pretty sure there's no CPs designed for the HMM Horns yet, and chances are other HMM CPs won't be compatible, sorry. Does anyone have any examples of iconic Zoids with Black caps? I'm just looking for some ideas for a custom color scheme and looking for some (stock) examples. Off the top of my head I can think of the Salamander, (Moonbay's) Gustav, Shieldy DCS-J and Shadow Fox. I checked through Hanegaru's site and it seems like almost half of all Republic Zoids have black caps, although very few Empire Zoids have them. If you want colour schemes with lots of white (and black caps), the best ones are probably Gojulas Giga, Iron Kong Yeti, NJR Command Wolf and the Republic Grade-Ups (Orudios, Houndsoldier etc). Falcarius thanks for the information, I hadn't seen Hanegaru's site before and trying to navigate through the Zoids wiki for all of the thumbnails... I'm getting a better idea of what I'm looking for now so has anyone heard from Grimm? I really want to see pics of the chrome Rez tiger and if he sells them but I've heard he just disappears 'He just disappears' is an adequate way to put it. I don't recommend ever buying from Grimm. He's disappeared with hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars worth of merchandise that was already paid for. He never even shipped my paid items that he proved he had IN STOCK. He recently posted about how he was getting ready to ship things out, but disappeared yet again, and people have been unable to get in contact with him since. Its been a few weeks. Me, I've waited 3+ years for my items. Kingliger! And Strike Zilla (Aro Saurer recolor in...Technozoids, I think). Well, Kingliger was covered by Republic grade-ups, but it's pretty distinctive rather than using the white more for trim. Battle Cougar has a lot of white on it too. How long does Jauce usually take to ship items? I requested shipment 5-6 days ago and haven't heard anything. Sometimes it may take up to a week and in rare occurrences slightly more (probably 10 days max); depending on how many items you have gathered, if you opted to get the 1200yen 'Repackaging Fee' (which I recommend), how busy they are at their warehouse, etc. Basically a lot of miniscule factors. All my shipments have never taken more than a week. Make sure your balance isn't negative... Unfortunately you don't know the exact amount for Int'l Shipping until the items are ready to be shipped out. I'm assuming because once it is packaged for shipment it is weighed and what not. So after they package everything and prepare to send it out, they will charge your Jauce Account. If it is more than you already have in your account, or if your account balance is at $0, it will show a negative amount (how much you need to deposit), and until your clear your debt // balance your account they will not ship your items. If this is not the case Han (I know you are experienced with 3rd Part Purchasing sites) then it should not be much longer. I will say the actual Int'l Shipping time, like once your items are en route to you, is pretty quick. At least I am always impressed. It's usually about a week max. They obviously give you tracking info so you can check up on it. You also obviously need to sign for the package, or pick it up from your post office if you are impatient (me). Alright, thanks. It's unfortunate it takes so long, I'm used to only waiting 2-3 days max for companies to ship out. I only ordered 3 items. I've checked my jauce account every day to make sure it wasn't negative, but no luck yet. With that info though, should be shipping in the next day or so! I know the actual shipping time won't be long; that's not Jauce though, that's the shipping company. So can't really look at the site for good or bad results in that regard. Even if it took 4 weeks to arrive it wouldn't be their fault. I expect less than a week for the actual transit time. Thanks for the info~ Yeah that's odd that it took so long for your items. It varies though given all the little factors combined, at least with Jauce; I've had shipments sent out in like 2 days, just recently I ordered the shipment for my LZ Clear Ver. on Monday and it got sent out on Friday. So I'm pretty pumped! gunna get out to a Michael's Craft store tomorrow hopefully to pick up legit sprue cutters and a new x-acto blade. Han and anyone that has any input: Do you guys recommend a certain kind of sprue cutter? Also, I've read that spending the extra money on the more expensive ones ($20-$40) is worth it in the long run and makes a difference, true or false? Also, what'd you get from Jauce Han?! I guess it depends on if you're hyper sensitive about sprue marks are not; a sharper cut may have less of an obvious mark. I personally don't think the difference would be at all worth spending $30 more than just picking up a $7 wire cutter at walmart (which is what I use). You can get a similar effect by cutting the piece a little bit further from the part, then shaving the excess plastic with a sharp razor blade (which are also cheaper to replace). I ordered the Zero Clear Version set, x2 Boosters from Zoids Battle Card Game Vol. 6, and two Revoltech Blade Ligers (blue and Mirage). I guess that's technically 5 items, 3 lots, but still not many and all in simple shapes for packing. The Republic booster has K Wuf on it, so it'll be going on my K Wuf shelf~ Ooh that's a nice lot! Let me know how the clear 3 CAS for LZ look and come out. And yeah I've read up on how to efficiently remove pieces from sprues and done my research, this being my first HMM lol sorta had to cause I don't wanna mess anything up // break anything. I guess I'll see what Michael's has to offer tomorrow and make a game-time decision then. Thanks for the info I HIGHLY recommend getting model sprue cutters over wire cutters. Wire cutters do a lot more crushing, and the nippers have a lot more blade to them, and are much sharper, and do more cutting. I think the ones I have from the hobby store cost about $15. You can get them for a bit cheaper online, but you won't be able to see them in person. I have no reason to believe that the $10-$15 pair is any different (besides fancy handles) than the $30 pair that was right next to them. I use both a pair of model kit nippers, and a scalpel blade. I usually try to nip the model slightly out from the piece, then shave the last bit of sprue off with the scalpel so it prevents bruising. The new bandai gundam kits, have a really neat way of connecting the sprue to the pieces, and there is very little contact. With these, I don't even have to use the scalpel, and honestly, you can just pop the pieces off and have nearly perfect pieces with no marks 90% of the time. Even if you don't like gundams, you should find a cheap $20 kit you like, and try one out. Their new modeling is really top notch, and I think everyone should adopt their new style of sprue attachment. Has anyone ever built a Gojulas without putting the weight in the tail? I have no doubt that it would screw up the movement, but I'm wondering if it would be fine for display purposes. The reason I ask is that I recently retrieved my own Zoidzilla from storage, which was bought and built when I was an adult (albeit about 15 years ago) and always handled with care, yet the tail loop is broken anyway. It seems the stress of just holding up that weigh is too much for the joint, so when i build my Ogre I am thinking to leave out the weight and just keep it for display. Not if its going to topple over on its face though... I was remove tail ballast on my OJR Gojulas & Zoidzilla and you should establish them in 'right pose' or Gojy will swing the body up front a little because there is no ballast in tail to balancing body pose I left the weight out of my HT Gojulas, and it displays fine. I did have to make sure I had its pose kinda balanced tho, otherwise it did try to fall on its face. My Zoidzilla operated and displayed just fine without the tail's metal weight. I tend to tread lightly around my Zoids, however. Just wondering which release of the Gordos is this? I can't find any mention of it on the Zoids Wikia so I'm kind of curious... It looks very similar to the knock-odd krark / pteramander that was on ebay not too long ago, lol. But maybe it's official, I'm not good with vintage zoids knowledge! I did a reverse google image search (something I didn't think of initially) and apparently it is official! It is an OER Great Gorgon; I think this might be might favorite release of the Gordos! EDIT: How rare are these guys? How much can I expect to pay for one? That box is for the (OJR) Japan release of OER's Great Gorgon. According to Hanegaru website, it was released in 1984, the same year as Great Gorgon, I believe. It seems I missed my chance to get an OER Great Gorgon by roughly a week, eBay's history shows a bunch of 'em were sold towards the end of August. Hopefully some more will be listed I might as well give up on trying to get an OJR one at those prices I'm positive somebody on here will be able to answer this: What are the general dimensions of a HMM Liger Zero? (Height and Length) For the length, could you please provide me with a measurement from nose to end of tail, and from nose to end of body? Reason I'm asking being I'm thinking of getting a mini display case for mine so I can maybe display it on my dresser as opposed to my floating display case... something like this Thanks in advance to anyone who gives me some info // insight. P.s.: How COOL would it be if Zoids and Koto began making HMM models for......wait for it.... the Organoids! Like Zeke, Shadow, Ambient, and Specular.. Like legit highly detailed model kits, but bigger obviously, maybe anywhere from 5-7 inches tall? I was just thinking about it this evening and thought that'd be awesome, and I feel like Zoiders would love that and have lots fun customizing it. Anyway just a thought Measuring my HMM Liger Zero I estimate about; 34.5cm from head to the end of the tail and 19.2cm from head to the end of the body. I'm positive somebody on here will be able to answer this: What are the general dimensions of a HMM Liger Zero? (Height and Length) For the length, could you please provide me with a measurement from nose to end of tail, and from nose to end of body? Awesome, so it will fit. Thank you Irishwolven Can I use superglue on an HMM kit? The brand is "Krazy Glue (Home and Office)" Or will it erode the plastic? Krazy Glue isn't sold here so I have no idea. However I recently bought a Selly's plastic Adhesive which came with a the glue tube and a primer pen. It bonds rather fast and is designed specifically for plastics. I fixed a heldigunner's leg peg with it and it seems to be holding very well. I don't use super in fear of it corroding overtime but no idea if it actually will or not. I went ahead and used a very tiny bit, only to hold the teeth into the jaw.. couldn't get the damn things to stay for some reason. And surprisingly, they are freakin sharp. Now they are in there secure and sturdy, which gives me a little bit of reassurance that they won't shoot off under pressure while in my display cabinet. If some of the plastic corrodes a tiny bit (which I doubt it will since I used so little) it won't even matter because it's between the jaw and the teeth, so its generally internal and you can't see it. I completed the head so far... took me about an hour and some change LOL but hey this is my first HMM and I'm babying it and being OCD with the sprues and clippings. I find myself tidying up every part with the x-acto blade, even the internal//unseen parts, which is probably what is eating my time. But whatever, I'm enjoying the process thus far and I'd honestly rather take forever and get it right without breaking anything instead of rushing through it and who knows what. I've also decided to take pics along the way and write notes in my instructions booklet because a few people on here asked me to do a review so whyyy not! Thanks for the response ShadoWolfozo Waaaah, I wish I had responded to your PM sooner! Well hopefully it doesn't bloom too bad. It might be hidden enough to not be a problem, but on the clear kit the bloom effect might be even worse. lol. From now on, use model cement!!! Um just wondering if anyone else who uses Jauce is having the same thing... but my 'net is pretty bad so I wouldn't be surprised if it was just me. Does everything/anything on Jauce load really really slowly for anyone else? @rhas well the teeth are a solid metallic gold so even if it does I'll never see it. But I really doubt it will though, I used such a small amount Yes, the Jauce interface is extremely slow. It's worth while for the instant bidding but never rely on it for last second bids! Really? it's not really slow for me at all, that's strange It takes several times longer to load any auction page than it takes to load the Yahoo Japan page. I assume this is because it's processing the data for the English interface, but it could also be a compatibility issue with Chrome? On a completely off topic note, a great example of good deals a YJ: I just won an original HMM Shield Liger for $25 before fees. Official, not BT. Cheapest one on Ebay is $160! That may be it, I use Safari and it is just as quick as any other page. And congrats on the HMM SL my friend So I just played with it on Firefox and it loads and recognises clicks MUCH faster. Must be, as Han said, an incompatibility with Chrome. Has anyone used any of Tamiya's Translucent sprays from PS-36 to PS-45 before? And would they be appropriate for re-colouring translucent orange plastic? I've been thinking of getting another Naomi HMM Gunsniper (Just specifically for the tail difference) and spray painting the red black and using the silver chrome parts I've just purchased. However I want to change the canopy colour too. I assume that possibly the colours that I could change to is a red or a brown, but I just want to know if it's possible to get other colours like blue or possibly green? Also would it also be possibly to maybe use a translucent coat of nail varnish instead? Clear plastic = adding colors only if you want to keep it transparent. So green or blue over orange will sadly just make darker colors I suspect would be icky/disappointing. Silver undercoat and then a clear color over it will make for a non-clear shiny color with a bit more depth, though, if that would be okay? Though I think clear red looks really nice with silver chrome and black. Black/silvery grey/chrome silver would look rather like the good Zoids2 silver scheme, too, and clear red would go with that since they had the red/black swirl stickers. I'm not sure if that's the spray versions of the clear Tamiya acrylics I've tried one of for hand painting, but if it is I...think they would work? I have a Storch recolor Natsumi did for me where the green clear bit is tinted more blue with clear paint that I think was Tamiya's (not visible on the pics of it online, I asked for that after they were taken). I can test my Tamiya clear blue and/or my Vallejo clear red on some spare bits of frame to see how they adhere/look if you need. Just would have to find a bigger hunk of clear orange to test the red on, and I bet there's one...somewhere...in the clear/chrome frames box, and I needed to test red over orange anyway for my forever undone Hayate Liger repaint. (That poor Liger. I should at least get the failed parts stripped before it's cold out...) Clear plastic = adding colors only if you want to keep it transparent. And I was thinking red may be the easiest and best choice for it unless I went for the silver undercoat method. I'm likely going to try and use a matt clear coat on top of it as well, just a little, to get a frosted look. Something I just witnessed by accident whilst I was working on my HMM Dark Horn. However I want to change the canopy colour too. I assume that possibly the colours that I could change to is a red or a brown, but I just want to know if it's possible to get other colours like blue or possibly green? I did a test with the orange sprue from Liger Zero when I was building Midnight Strike and painted over it with one or two layers of some very watered down blue acrylic paint. It did go blue, but also made the colour go really dark, almost to the point of black if in a shadow. So sadly just painting an orange sprue piece blue/green does seem like it works.. but not at all well. EDIT: _______________ Since collecting the card pack gashapons (red/blue) I've noticed some people are claiming they are actually quite rare to find. So I'm just curious, exactly how rare are they? What types are more rare compared to others? Are blue ones or red ones more collectible? And the 'clear chase' ones, or 'crystal' ones, I realise they are even rarer, but again, how rare are they? Which zoids are certainly rarer than others? And on average, what's the general price range that some of these go for? I've recently purchased several, some still to arrive, and I am just genuinely curious to know exactly what I've managed to collect, other than, of course, expanding my gashapon collection. I've recently purchased several, some still to arrive, and I am just genuinely curious to know exactly what I've managed to collect, other than, of course, expanding my gashapon collection. Han is the one you want to talk to about this ^ The red and blue does not denote rarity, so the only 'rarity' among them is the random chance of them being assorted into packs. The Battle Card Game, each volume was split into two halves: Empire and Republic. Red Zoids are from the Empire boosters, blue are from the Republic boosters. Volume 4 is typically the most common, that I've seen, while Volume 5-6 are the most sought after and 1-3 semi rare (more expensive than super rare). The chase figures, you are lucky to ever find one that you're after. Only a few go up in auctions every month or two. If you're looking for general figures from these sets, it's not hard to find lots for them, and sometimes you get lucky with cheap ones. Other times, lots of these figures can go for a fortune. If you want specific ones, you could end up searching for years. I spent 2-3 years finding the blue Konig Wolf figures I have, and I own one of only two Konig Wolf chase figures that I've ever seen. The other one wasn't for sale, it was part of a private collection. I've searched all YJ auctions actively every day for the past several years, if that gives any idea to rarity. As for the expensive lots, the most expensive I've ever seen consisted of 29 Republic figures, 27 Empire figures, 73 assorted gashapons, and 2 Card Game chase figures. Some of the gashapons were rare, like Gilvy, but there were MANY doubles. The lot went for $5,400. Roughly $40 per figure. Unfortunately, turning a profit on them is a complete craps shoot. Sometimes you lose big time, sometimes you draw in the high bidders. You definitely can't sell them for much profit on the US market, which is virtually unaware of the BCG. Selling individually yields virtually no profit, unless it's a chase figure or super popular Zoid (not really Zeros, since they're a bit more common). Lots fetch the most, contrary to usual sales trends of fetching less overall. Since collecting the card pack gashapons (red/blue) I've noticed some people are claiming they are actually quite rare to find. I assume that possibly the colours that I could change to is a red or a brown, but I just want to know if it's possible to get other colours like blue or possibly green? I did a test with the orange sprue from Liger Zero when I was building Midnight Strike and painted over it with one or two layers of some very watered down blue acrylic paint. It did go blue, but also made the colour go really dark, almost to the point of black if in a shadow. So sadly just painting an orange sprue piece blue/green does seem like it works.. but not at all well. I did try both clear blue and clear green on orange clear parts(by hand paint). Just like ShadoWolfozo said, like blue make it too dark to call it clear blue. But clear green is find, although it's still little darker than the normal clear green, but it still nice and transparent. Didn't try to spary the clear green on orange clear parts yet, but I'm sure it needs more than 1 coat to turn the clear orange to clear green, it may end up darker than you think. What's the difference between this dark horn, and a normal one? Is it just the weapon?

Anybody know where I can get any of the following, if at all: [HMM CP-018: Strike Laser Claw & Laser Fang] Sprue: Includes upper part of claws (Chrome Gold), Gold Teeth Sprue: Includes lower part of claws (Chrome Silver), Silver chrome leg discs [HMM CP-019: Joint Cap Red Plating (for Liger Zero)] Sprue: Red Chrome Caps Includes enough sprues for a second Liger Zero [HMM CP-020: Type Zero CAS (Pearl Version)] Sprue: Includes pearl armor for all white parts [HMM CP-024: Liger Zero Plating Parts Set] Sprue: Silver chrome claws (lower parts only), Silver Leg Discs Sprue: Red chrome caps Sprue: Colorless transparent eyes Sprue: Gold chrome claws and teeth (Upper part of claws only) Sprue: Gold chrome pipes Sprue: Scattered Black chrome parts, Black Chrome Boosters How rare are these things? Any chance I could get them? No rush or immediate need for them, but just for future reference, and a bit curious Yahoo Japan, Rakuten, or Mandarake are your best bets. It's not ultra rare but doesn't show up often. The CP-024 is in a box, while the others are just loose plastic bags with a little blue cardboard header. You can proxy order from the Koto site (HMM CP-24). Haven't had luck tracking down HMM CP-20. The Kotobukiya Shop actually doesn't stock these anymore, unless you have a direct link? There's no result for them anywhere in the Zoids or HMM categories. So I was building a hasbro Pteramander this morning and when I got to the legs I noticed something odd. They didn't sit quite evenly so I looked and noticed one has a notch (as shown below). Is this normal? Which one is 'right' if it is not? Does anyone have a spare piece so I can replace it if needed? I think you have the feet on backwards.. As in, you have the right foot/leg where the left foot/leg should be, and vice versa. Those long straight pegs should be on the inside, along with the black caps EDIT: not my picture or model www.flickr.com/photos/38852541@N03/4668153314 Yeah, I was gonna say, something doesn't look right there bud! LOL, sorry guys for not better explaining that picture, I was just taking a picture and the legs weren't attached. I just oriented them in a way most convenient for showing the "concern." The thing I'm wondering about is why one side has that extra piece of plastic while the other does not (shown in the red boxes). Here's a picture with them actually on the model: See that gray "ridge" on the right leg by the ankle? Then turn your attention to the left side, it doesn't have it at all! hahaha ooohh my mistake. Idk then... that's strange though. If there hasn't been a piece broken off then it might just be a miss on the engineering end? How can I tell the difference between an OJR orudios and the zoids graphics Orudios? I purchased one, and just want to make sure I got what I paid for. If I recall...one should have a clip battery cover, and the other should be a screw. I think the clip was OJR. What would one recommend using as bases/stands for zoids? I just purchased two of these hoping they will do the trick, since they were cheaper, but is it recommended to get Koto's other 'Flying Base' stand instead? If the first ones wont hold the zoids I can display my D-Styles on, so it's no loss. Anybody know what international shipping is like with amiami.com? about how much for say, a single HMM Because of the size and weight of HMM you can expect quite a bit. Average liger weight lends $40-$50 shipping, usually. Toy-wave.com has the weights of many HMM Zoids listed which you can use to calculate using the Japan Post shipping calculator. The shipping calc always estimates on the low side since it doesn't include things like box and packaging, but only by a few bucks. The Kotobukiya Shop actually doesn't stock these anymore, unless you have a direct link? There's no result for them anywhere in the Zoids or HMM categories. Damn you're right. Wow I've been away for awhile! hahaha ooohh my mistake. Idk then... that's strange though. If there hasn't been a piece broken off then it might just be a miss on the engineering end? I have a feeling it's the latter, not one hundred percent sure though. I just wonder which one is "right" (as in how do these come from the factory assuming no defects) *dismayed* Anybody know what international shipping is like with amiami.com? about how much for say, a single HMM According to my records (I have a detailed logbook of my zoids purchases) it cost ¥5,400 for me to ship an HMM Blade Liger. While this was when the JPY (vs USD) was stronger I'd say you still might expect to shell out around $54.00... Of course from what I've read (somewhere) Blade Liger boxes are relatively huge so I don't know if a Liger Zero would be cheaper in the end... Okay. SOMEONE was looking for a set of standing/sitting raven figures from the genobreaker (or whichever kit it came with) and asked me for them a while ago, and I said I had some SOMEWHERE.... Anyways, I found them! So whoever it was, let me know. XD Anyone still alive out there? This place has been dead lately! and that sucks I haven't been able to do much Zoiding lately unfortunately so I've been scarce for awhile now. Prices on Zoids I want to get my hands on aren't getting any lower and I haven't had any luck job hunting. Just a lot of real life issues going on keeping me away from the hobby. Lot's of let downs lately too with the HMM line steering off the Zoids track and the MSS line possibly steering away from Zoids as well. Anyone still alive out there? This place has been dead lately! and that sucks Yeah, I've just been busy with school, work and life craziness. Still actively purchasing/selling Zoids though just don't have much to chat about 'em or the time to work on 'em. Although I did sit down and build a hasbro gordosaur over the weekend and finally finish restoring one of my two ZRK's (however the other is pretty much hopeless without a replacement motor box ). I'll be posting pictures of both on my deviantart soon (probably). spiralofvertigo I hope your job hunt turns up some fruits for you soon! Good luck, I know it can be tough... Agree with Vertigo about the endless disappointments in the franchise. I'd expect things to get slower, but still as hopelessly obsessed as ever for me. That's a bummer... Vertigo best of luck finding a job, I know how difficult that is. and Wingpad good luck with school mate. Han I feel the same lol, part of me knows that I basically missed the prime of the Zoids era unfortunately, I was a bit late I suppose. Which is why I was ecstatic when I found this forum, I wasn't aware that communities like this still existed and people were still into this stuff, even with as much as it has died down. I'm still googly eyed over here Laughing slightly that everyone is in the same financial boat. Here is to a getting more money soon. Good luck fellow zoidians family. Lol. It sucks not being able to afford what ya want. I might be getting a part time job to pay the bills, so here is hoping. Although luckily I am also working NYCC next Thursday To Sunday, so that is extra money in my pocket. Hm... not saying it makes me feel better to know others are also unemployed at the moment, but I guess it at least makes it less lonely? That's kinda why I've been more absent here lately, as well. ligerzero91: I think Koto will keep on doing the reissues for the HMM Zoids for a while, so at least we've got that for now... good opportunity to get some of the things you may have missed out on, provided they get reissued. Might just be the depression speaking, but not really seeing much of a chance on the MSS Zoids continuing, would've loved to add that Salamander to my collection. Sorta holding out some hope that the HMM Zoids will return, though. It's sort of hard to say what's actually going on, they sort of suggest Z-Knights are the new HMM Zoids, but at the same time, I don't really *buy* that. I suppose we'll see, just would like to see a few more Zoids get the HMM treatment before they call it.

22's dead as well but the printable version isn't! Nearly done... Nah, you aren't alone, but trust me. It will get better :-) Since Paypal assured me last time that AmiAmi's mistake was most likely their merchant punching in my balance wrong, I tried to order the HMM Book there. YET AGAIN issues. It's trying to charge me more than I owe. I don't know exactly how much but it's asking me to use my bank balance, which means that it's trying to charge over $40 more than my order total. Nobody else seems to have this issue and AmiAmi swears there's nothing wrong so I don't know what to say but what the hell. That's twice now this has happened to me and it is ONLY with Amiami. Paypal says it's AmiAmi's merchant service, Amiami isn't sure what's causing it. I feel like I'm just a bother when I have to contact their customer support for direct payment options every time I buy something. ligerzero91 I definitely agree with you there, even as a kid I missed the prime era of Zoids. I remember trying to find the NCZ anime at the library only to discover they had one or two VHS's and that was right when they were getting rid of their VHS's to buy DVD's. I guess that just shows my age a bit, as I was only 5-6 years old when Hasbro Zoids hit the shelves @dark_command_wolf I definitely would have been psyched to add that Salamander to my collection, it's really disappointing there... @hbc I second you on the "it'll get better" statement! @han good luck with the AmiAmi thing, that sounds like a mess... Sorry to hear about that again, Han. Personally I don't think Zoids will ever "vanish". Lie dormant, yes, but I doubt it'll be gone forever. Zoids is an old series and seeing as TT can still squeeze profit from it, they'll keep it around. Do I see it being as popular as it was in the early 2000s? No. It's not the fat cow it used to be. Doesn't mean you can't still milk it and it's always good to have a backup if Transformers goes under and or stops grossing in the trillion a year. This being said, if I could give TT three tips it would be these, - If you want to attract more customers you need to give Zoids a wider base. HMM is doing fine, but not every fan is going to want the big and expensive kits. Of course we've been down this route before, so maybe there is not helping it. Also, understand Zoids has a world-wide appeal. Maybe you could start trying to sell them in stores again? Basically start releasing more varieties and world-wide is what I'm saying.
- If you're going to make another anime, first watch Lucky Star and Strike Witches. Take notes to NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DO WHAT THEY DO. Then watch Zoids Genesis and proceed to slap yourselves. Genesis was terrible and if you're going to make a series don't do just copy Chaotic Century and slap fanservice on it. Rather, make a new series about the Battle Story or just do what you did with New Century Zero and have giant robots beating each other up.
- No Mecha Mursame.
wingpad- it's funny, as bad as things get, it can always be worse. I tend to have a slight "glass half-empty" look on things. Only reason why is it makes even the smallest good thing to happen seem even better. Makes one appreciate the small things in life. Lol. Alright well, this'll be the last time I bring up AmiAmi for a good while, but I wanted to ask this here too since ZP is responsible for a sizable amount of my traffic. Should I remove all links to AmiAmi from my site? I redirect all sales to their store because they have the best items. This is done on my front page in my pre-order table where I list all upcoming releases for Zoids. It really is a question of numbers game Vs. ethics because their prices are great, but their customer service is deplorable. The flip side is that I'd have to redirect people to other stores I don't like (HLJ Imma lookin at you) because of worse general options. Higher cost, more time restriction on making payments, and assorted other issues (but as far as I know, none so bad as to claim to be completely impervious to human error). I don't mind continuing to support their store on my site, since I want to be objective and do what's best for people as a whole, but I'm not sure that's what I'm doing if I know how bad the service is. What's more important? The general ease of experience (which requires no interaction with the store) or the more rare, but dangerous customer support issues? Han I'm not familiar with AmiAmi at all, but I will say this: I guess it comes down to the question of is this experience, specifically the problem with the overcharges, exclusive to your personal experience, or are others experiencing this same problem? If others aren't experience it, then leave it I suppose (why they are picking on you, idk). If others are experiencing it as well, then F 'em, they don't deserve free advertising on your awesome site. its tough, because perhaps it is happening to others as well, but it may be overlooked by them. Now how you'd go about finding that out I'm not sure... maybe ask around I've looked around and have so far not found anyone else that had the overcharging issue. As far as I can tell there is a mysterious $100+ debt on my AmiAmi account, that tries to charge me for $102 extra every time I try to check out. My first issue with them, which was the Gojulas Ordeal (where they said they would not refund an item even if it was absolutely proven that it was lost in the mail, nor make ven the most basic attempts (calling USPS to just have to forwarded to me instead of returned) to help resolve the issue) was experienced by one other user who also ordered from AmiAmi, and had it go through the same sort facility. Their Gojulas was also lost, and AmiAmi was equally unwilling to help from what I recall (correct me if I'm wrong!) So, two seperate issues, one repeated, and one experienced by another member of the community. AmiAmi assures me that they are absolutely incapable of any kind of error, no matter what. And sorry for the double post, but does anyone know of stores in Japan that may carry the Fuzors series? I'm interested in buying but would ideally not want to pay $200. Looking for $100-$150 range. I've checked Rakuten, Mandarake, and Yahoo Japan. I am aware of the $110 set on Rakuten but it is priced according to its quality, and the DVD covers appear badly damaged. I'm looking for decent condition items. Personally, I've only used Amiami twice. They were okay both times. Nothing to write home about, but I didn't have any problems with them, either. On the other hand, you mentioned not liking HLJ, but I will state on the record that I've bought a ton from them, and the customer service is pretty damn good. (I even didn't have enough money to pay for my HMM Gojulas last year when it was released, because it actually hit 2 weeks earlier than expected, and I was tight on funds, because Christmas and all... they gave me a little extra time to pay for it.) Also, they were pretty friendly when I was asking them about the Originals line to see if they'd be able to do special orders (unfortunately, they couldn't, but they were still cool about it.) Anyway, guess it's ultimately up to you what you decide to do with your Amiami links, Han. I would say that if they're really being *that* terrible, which it sounds like they are, you need to assert that you've given them business by recommending them, and you are disappointed in the service they are offering. 'course that possibly wouldn't do a thing to help your situation with them, but it's pretty clear they're not exactly doing much to get your money, either. (Well, okay, they're really trying hard to get your money. They're not doing a damn thing to earn it, though.) I guess the one thing I can approve of about Amiami over HLJ, is they seem to have more of a selection of older things. Like I recall they fairly recently had the Yamato Shield Liger available, even though it's out of production. Of course, a good selection is nothing, if they can't actually GET the item to you. Also, on the Fuzors DVDs, haven't got a clue. I've been buying stuff with Jauce when I do lately, and that's just an English interface for Y!J with fees, so can't say I know. One possible idea, though... you could try Amazon.co.jp, and see if anyone has it in the Marketplace and isn't charging an arm and a leg, and will ship internationally. I guess another idea would be to see if Yesasia has anything... sometimes find some really unexpected stuff on there. HLJ would be my second choice, but I may be shopping around for another store since they just have so many minor annoyances to me. I order model kit magazines from them every month and it took them like 5 months to fix an issue where I couldn't even pay for my orders, because the invoices they were sending me weren't providing links (I triple checked all Email settings, and links worked fine in other Emails so it wasn't that). The lack of ability to pay at all on site really threw me for a loop. They also provide only 3 days to pay, not 7, and cost a substantial amount more... $4-10 on every order. It is definitely good to hear that they can be accommodating on the time, it's a definite point in their favor, but I imagine you'd only get away with it once or twice. As far as the AmiAmi stuff goes, I've already made my concerns clear to them. This was their response: USPS told me that only Amiami, as the one who paid postage could request the package be sent on to buyer or for a refund. Amiami would not contact them. They said they could through Japanpost, and said maybe they would after the holidays, but never did. Their response made it clear that as long as they send the item out, they're not responsible and will offer no compensation, even when it is proved that the parcel was lost. My long standing service only meant that I should be the one to bite the bullet and lose that chunk of change, even though at the time I had received nothing for the money sent to them. Return business means nothing to them. Ooohhhh.... yeah that's not a good response from them. Return business means nothing to them. Holy hell. That's... pretty ridiculous. I mean, an individual claiming they won't help, while unpleasant, is a little more expected. A shop that's been around for a while, and has a niche, but fairly large customer base doing that? Unacceptable. And their response is pretty indignant, too. "Unfair for our store to be blamed"... uh... wow. I don't even have words. It's one thing if you were some self-entitled child demanding free stuff, but this is something you PAID FOR. :/ Did you ever get your money back, or your Gojulas? Or did you honestly have to eat the loss? As far as my business with HLJ, I don't mind spending the bit extra, though the orders I made through Amiami were cheaper than HLJ. I guess the thing is, I have a billing agreement with HLJ, and I always use Fedex shipping (which surprisingly, if you have a large order, is actually cheaper than the other options) so I sort of go in with the expectations I will be paying more. Let's just say, they've been pretty good to me, so I don't mind paying the extra. (Though at times like now, when I'm broke and unemployed, I do sort of kick myself for paying the extra in the past. But eh... haven't been buying much lately anyway.) But I do understand where you're coming from. Honestly, I don't make as frequent of orders as you do, so I suppose that can make all the difference. I usually order a bunch of things at once, or things that have close release dates... and then have them all shipped at once. The Private Warehouse thing is really a big deal for me, even though I hate that it's a 60-day limit on storage, and they'll ship automatically if you don't make the request. (They have stuck firm with that one, was not able to get them to hold something back on that, unfortunately. But I did get lucky that time, and the other item I was waiting on arrived on day 53 of the other item being in storage, so managed to get them packed together.) That said, though, I do recall seeing others on here have major issues with HLJ, so I do know that they're not perfect. I just know I've been using them since 2009, and not had any issues. I got my Gojulas by no help (or knowledge) of AmiAmi. The only reason I did was because my sister spent close to 2 weeks chatting every day on the phone with USPS to track down the box. From what USPS could tell, the shipping label was not properly adhered to the box and had been removed during shipment, likely from bumping up against other stuff. Even then, be it for better or worse, USPS had to break protocol to get the box to me since I was the buyer, not the sender. They were sympathetic about my situation with AmiAmi's lack of willingness to help. There was no damage to the box to imply usual forceful removal from rough handling. They did not write any info on the box itself to help them identify it, so it had gone to a sort facility where it was soon to be opened and auctioned (which happens with a lot of lost mail when it can't find its owner). It was over 1 month late to arrive and USPS estimated that I only had a week or so to get it or it would've been lost for good! As far as AmiAmi knows I didn't ever get it. The Private Warehouse is admittedly a feature I love, even if I also have mild frustrations with the 60 day limit. Of course, it's more than understandable when they don't charge you for it, but I'm used to being able to wait lol I got my Gojulas by no help (or knowledge) of AmiAmi. I don't think my sister would do that for me. (Then again, she's a teacher, so I guess if it were the middle of summer... though she DOES live out of state, so that probably wouldn't help much...) Regardless, such reasons as that are why I always put shipping information INSIDE the box as well. and those outer pouch things... well, I worked in a warehouse/distribution center a few years back, and you would be amazed how easily the processing equipment rips those pouches off. There's a definite reason I put tape over those pouch things after I put them on. Also, I think it would be nice if they'd let things stay in the Private Warehouse longer... maybe for a small fee or something. Not that I don't want my stuff right away, but if it's gonna be 65 days after an item is in stock for another item to arrive, I'd be willing to pay a small storage fee. Maybe I should suggest it and see what they think? (I wouldn't be willing to pay any more than another $5 a month for storage, though...) Wow... and five stars for USPS! They took a big risk in doing what they did, and they did it for the right reasons. Wow... someone made an Otachi out of a LZ? Nice! Thanks for the links, Fontana! I hope we can drum up enough support for a contest. I recently acquired something in a lot of parts and I wasn't quite sure what it was, with some help a member here I discovered it was a MISP 1/72 scale Battle Rover from the Command Zoids series. Since it's not really something I envision myself wanting to hold onto I'm wondering if you guys have any idea what it might be worth? I can't find much information about it anywhere... In any case, it's apparently rather rare to see nowadays so I think I was lucky to find it! If it's MIB I would say it is around $50. Maybe a bit higher, if someone really wants it. There are a couple on ebay sitting at $100+ but I assure you they have been there for a very long time, lol. It' not quite that high in price. @rhas all of the ones I saw on ebay were the 1:24 scale models I think, this guy is a 1:72 scale model. I don't know if he would even fetch that much (but IDK this one is much less common so who knows). Here's a picture showing the differences (where the one I have is the itty, bitty one): (Image from hanegaru's site) So I finally got done watching all of Chaotic Century again, since I still don't have Internet or cable at my new place (thank god I bought a bootleg copy of the series) and I have a few questions that I have always wanted to ask but never thought to do so, 1. Has anyone ever made a custom of either Stinger's or the Three Guards' Sabre Tigers? Stinger's was a light red with purplish-pink teeth and claws, with an assault unit on it. There was an episode where it had a kickass blade on the side. 1b. As for the Three Guards, they had 2 silver and one gold Sabre, fitted with assault units as well. They all had the same face design as the Zoids2 model release, and fancy shoulder pieces. Anyone with pics to either would be awesome. 2. As wig the first question, I am sure it has been done since this site was here far before I joined, but anyone possibly attempt to make the construction zoids? I mean like the guysac plow? 3. Why does every episode end with Van screaming? What the hell? I will admit, it helps to know when the end of the episode is near lol. 4. I really wanna see someone make a custom of Prozen fused with the Deathsaurer. It was too freaky. They creepy smile, etc. lol 5. I feel this is series was like the japanese equivalent to Star Wars. Irvine was Han Solo, even had his exact outfit in one episode. Moonbay is a mix of Leia/lando. Van is,of course, Luke. Fiona is also a mix of Leia and C-3PO. Zeek is R2D2. Dr. D is Yoda (lmao). Prozen is Darth Vader. Hiltz is Palpatine. Raven is the Anakin-side of Vader, due to the redemption at the end. I love how both series were about blowing up 2 massive monstrosities with the word "death" in them, almost the exact same ways. Lol (yeah, I know. Way too much thought into this) 6. VAN! FIONA! VAN! FIONA! ZEEK! INUYASHA! KAGOME! X.x lol I feel better now having asked/vented all of this. Lol Check out this gallery~ They made all 3 of the Royal Guards! So far I don't recall any Stinger customs. I have screenshots from the show posted of the royal Zabers here and here. I've never personally seen the construction worker Zoids as customs. It's dramatic! (If you like Van. Not a huge fan of the character myself.) A Prozen deathy would be neat, but difficult to scale! In the mean time this person over here made one with the Hiltz core! (Go to page 3 to see the core) holy crackers! that dedication on that ds. also those guard zabers are sexy unrelated question, is Amiami my best option price wise for a geno breaker raven kit? i cant buy it this month thanks to a goof up on my end but i certainly will be paying out next month. As long as their preorder price maintains I've not found a better priced store than AmiAmi. HLJ and Hobby Search both tend to be more expensive. Only other place to look is maybe Ebay. sweet! how are they with the shipping prices if you do combined shipping? and do you prefer SAL or EMS with them? another anoooother question does anyone know if the bluray sets of the anime actually have subtitles? only curious~ The Blu-ray sets don't have any kind of subtitles or closed captioning, in any language. ow thats painfully disappointing. i can really understand the difficulty is subsidizing that sort of thing. especially considering the kits that come with them are the bigger value. oh well =[ Ok... So... How do you pronounce Gungyalado / Gungyarado / gungyarados / gungyalados . . . . How the heck do you pronounce this thing?? That has been a mystery since the dawn of time... Hence; "Gungy!" Thank you! That totally rocks Han! Don't actually know enough about Japanese to comment, but found this Tumblr post about it interesting. When otherwise in doubt, turn to Pokemon! Hey, I like Gun Gallard (guy-ar-d). That seems legit to me. i can tell ill be making good use of this thread during my time here. how many zoids tend to fit on a shelf in a deltof before it starts getting too crowded? crowded being you cant see 3/4 of the model Ehh... depends on what Zoids you're trying to display. I'm sure you can pack them in there, but if you're like me and you don't want it to be super crowded, I'd say anywhere from 2-4, maybe 5 if they are smaller Zoids.. If they are bigger models like for example an Iron Kong, this obviously limits your space. So there are 3 actual glass shelves in the case, but theres the bottom of the case as well which you can obviously use to display Zoids. Sometimes people put them on top of the case too, which kinda defeats the purpose but hey. hahaha yea that extra space on top is so tempting i bet. im hoping i can get enough in each to set up a scene without restricting the space inside which could be up to three depending. i might end up using a riser for one or two but i would need to make sure they couldnt topple. my worst case scenario self is imagining the case just getting barely brushed but the riser inside getting toppled and crashing one zoid into another :'D oh the calamity hahaha yea that extra space on top is so tempting i bet. im hoping i can get enough in each to set up a scene without restricting the space inside which could be up to three depending. i might end up using a riser for one or two but i would need to make sure they couldnt topple. my worst case scenario self is imagining the case just getting barely brushed but the riser inside getting toppled and crashing one zoid into another :'D oh the calamity Hahaha wanna here a true horror story??? I kept this quiet at the time because I was so distraught // embarrassed but everything is fine now so I'll share. Here is my humble display case. It's basically a sideways 'floating' detolf. My father and I did a half-ass job of hanging it originally (couldn't find a stud on one side, blah blah) but it was up there, and seemed sturdy enough. Ikea had this weird engineering idea where the case was held up by a bracket that was drilled into the wall, and unfortunately it had specific hole cut-outs which limited where we could drill. We also didn't have the proper tools. Low and behold, one day I'm in the bathroom getting ready for work and hear this huge crash. It was exactly what you think it was hahaha. The one side (where we couldn't find a stud) fell from the wall. AMAZINGLY and MIRACULOUSLY, none of my Zoids were damaged, probably because I didn't have any HMMs at the time lol. My TV wasn't even crushed somehow. Not a single mark on my glass countertop. I was astonished. Long story short we got professionals to come out and hang it properly (they got rid of the stupid medal bracket and just drilled straight through the back of the case into the wall. That thing isn't going anywhere now. TALK ABOUT A FRICKEN HEADACHE. before even reading i look at that picture and my heart stops aaaahhh... that basically looks like an anvil hanging over a newborn right now with those foreshadowing words THIS STORY IS SO FAMILIAR GOD my roommate bought an shelf that is part of one of those massive study bookcase sets and it also came with the bracket like YO put this flimsy l-shaped bracket in your wall cause its top heavy. after we put the thing together i was like imagining the sound itd make coming down and so far we have just kinda crossed our fingers. sheeeeeesh im so glad everything turned out fine for you and your stuff though. have you considered putting an LED strip up in there by the way? and.. may i also compliment that choice in wall color if not for being in a rental right now those would be my walls~ Thank you! Yeah I'm glad also, I got really lucky.. Idk what they were thinking with those brackets honestly, they're just an awful concept all around. Besides that, I really didn't have much in there, just Zoids, which are made of plastic, and even at that I don't have many... so Idk man, it was pretty devastating, but now that everything is fixed // nothing was damaged everythings fine.. That case could withstand an earthquake now lol. Really dodged a bullet there. And yes I have like a black and red thing going on, and kind of an asian-culture theme; I have a chinese dragon painted on the opposite wall, bamboo trees, etc. Idk if you can see it cause the lights are on in that picture but I actually have LEDs behind my TV, called Dioder also by Ikea, they're pretty awesome and cheap ($20-$30 if I remember correctly) and they can change colors. I usually keep them on red. with the lights off they look pretty dope if I do say so myself. I've thought about putting LEDs in the case but I don't want a lot of wires hanging down so until I figure out a way to either hide them or not have any it is pretty dark up there. Will LEDs do anything to the plastic of my Zoids like fade them or anything? I'm real conscious and fearful of sun-fading hence why I usually keep my blinds down lol. from my knowledge LEDs shouldnt do anything to them ive seen some crazy ass deltofs just filled to the brim with figures and plastic and even professional looking setups using them. since i was planning on getting dioders, do you think the white in the color strips (you can switch them to white too right?) is the same as just the plain white strips and are they warm or cool? i feel like ive got zero straight answers on this from google. apparently they changed the bulbs in some recent versions??? Yes you are able to put them to white. Honestly, I can't say for sure if it would be the same as the plain white strips. Even when I have them on white its hard to tell just how white it is cause my walls are bright red lol. If I had to guess, I'd say the plain white strips have a much cleaner/brighter white. Mine seems to have a kind of tint on it (could be cause of my walls). So it depends what you're looking to do. The multi-color ones like I have are a great bang for your buck though; besides being able to choose from the spectrum of colors, there are 3 settings. The first is just a constant color of your picking, the second is a sudden blinking mode where it goes through the colors, the third is this cool fade effect where one color slowly transitions into another. If you are able to get out to an Ikea (if you're not planning to buy them online), they have both the plain white and multi-color strips displayed, so you'll definitely know your answer then. yea im a little less than an hour away from one its pretty awesome! okay the fade sounds super amazing and since youve told me that i am probably leaning more towards those. cute and colorful room needs cute and colorful lights Is there actually a battle story / use to the Gyro Craft Grade Up kit for the Gul Tiger? The big fans? How do I search for zoids on mandrake? @-@ Or can someone link me to the 'zoids' page. Is it as simple as searching zoids in japanese? Edit - Oh look it was that easy. ゾイド Three zero iron kong concept? Yep, it appears so~ We've already seen finished color versions of the Zoid, though. Hopefully more news on it soon! So ... remember when I was asking about the Command Zoids Battlerover, well one just sold on YJA for 3,900 JPY. I really was lucky on this find considering it was in a lot that I paid less than that for... Ok... So... How do you pronounce Gungyalado / Gungyarado / gungyarados / gungyalados . . . . How the heck do you pronounce this thing?? I'm going off the Japanese pronunciation here, since English doesn't have anything remotely like "Gungyalado". You know how "cute" starts with a "ky" sound that sort of gets squished into a single consonant? Well, the "gy" is basically the same thing but with a g. "Gun" is pronounced like the English word, the a's could sound like the one in "car", the one in "cat" or anything in between, and the o may or may not be silent. Other than that, simple Is there actually a battle story / use to the Gyro Craft Grade Up kit for the Gul Tiger? The big fans? The Gyro Crafters give Gul Tiger the ability to fly (including VTOL) and provide its weapons with more energy, and that's pretty much all the information we got in the OJR. They became slightly more important in Rebirth Century, where they were the only flight mechanism unaffected by the magnetic storms caused by the Grand Catastrophe, giving the Guylos Empire total control of the air once they actually remembered the Gyro Crafters existed... except then the Rebirth Century line got cancelled straight afterwards, so they still didn't get much action besides shooting some Kingligers on a scouting mission. Which reminds me, I should redo and post my Rebirth Century translations someday... how are chrome model kits made? i remember that Grimm used to do custom ones or something on here a very long time ago, i think. (i have been going here for years on and off but i keep forgetting my account information ;_; ) is there a way to do it DIY? Anyone here have a Blitz Haken? I've been considering getting one but I am wondering if you all here think it is worthwhile. I realize it is quite small and needs paint? Thoughts?

There isn't really a DIY chrome. I'm trying out alclad chrome paints now. I'll let you know about the results. It costs a lot of money to have chrome done. It is either electro plated or vaccum plated and requires extremely large and expensive equipment. The best prices I found, were in the $100 range, for 3 large sprues. ugh that sucks please let me know how those paints turn out though! what a shame, my black Lightning Saix may never be </3 Anyone here have a Blitz Haken? I've been considering getting one but I am wondering if you all here think it is worthwhile. I realize it is quite small and needs paint? Thoughts? I have one. It's a neat little guy but I got him as a contest prize and otherwise never would have bought him. If you can get him cheap just for collecting purposes, well why not, but yeah.. I wouldn't have got him otherwise. I'm trying out alclad chrome paints now. I've always had tremendous success with airbrushing Alclad Chrome paints. I've used them on many Gundam models, and even took an old Hasbro Metal Rhimos and Chromed it out - Still looks amazing two years later. It is a long process (several days just waiting for paints to fully dry) and a bit expensive ($10 for a small bottle of paint) but the results are unmatched when it comes to chroming parts. And much better than getting sprues chromed in my opinion because it wont leave nub marks on the parts since they'll already be removed from the sprues. @thepunishermax do you happen to have pictures? i'd love to see! edit; i found your video on youtube, dang! definitely gorgeous!! i need to look into those! ^Check my Great Saber custom I painted back in June, mostly painted with Alclad paints. The chrome's not great as I was still learning how to make the best use of it, but it's still pretty decent and you can tell how it would be when done properly. When it comes to metallic paints Alclad are by far the best choices, though Gaia Notes and MetalMaster are pretty close and have a few choices that Alclad don't. Just remember that if you're going to paint chrome, or any supper shiny metallic like polished brass, to use an enamel gloss black base coat first and leave it for 48 hours to cure before painting, then top coat after painting so that you don't ware it off by touching the parts. Just don't use Alclads top clear coats, they take 2 weeks to cure! Anyone here have a Blitz Haken? I've been considering getting one but I am wondering if you all here think it is worthwhile. I realize it is quite small and needs paint? Thoughts? I wouldn't get one unless it's cheap--it's a magazine bonus and it shows. Just a few pieces, not very posable, and the fusion with Brastle isn't really a fusion so much as "stick the legs on as pokey bits". But it's a nice metallic red (matching Brastle) and cute in a pokey way. It could be be a fun quick painting project too, and there's some suggestions in the magazine it came with if I remember right (I can look). Most of them won't come with the Dengeki Hobby magazine, though, as a warning. It's a big thing, like a (large size, not small handheld) paperback book, and most of it's not about Zoids. There's some Fuzors stuff, though, so it was cool to me . There's another type of chrome for plastic actually. It's "Powder Chrome" which is used for smaller things like little plastic trophies and action figures. It's a tad cheaper (for plastic) than electroplating too. Creations n Chromeshows off some examples here. Though I happen to love this ad for it! Couple questions about the Leoshop Zero chromies: How rare are the Leoshop chrome Liger zero units (jager/schneider/panzer) ? Like, does anyone know how many were made, when they were made, if they are highly sought after, etc. ? And, realisticly, how much are they worth for a NIB vs. opened, put together but in perfect condition? (I'm pretty sure I've asked similar questions regarding a different bunch of zoids a while ago XD ) Delayed but, thank you Falcarius! That's exactly the answer I was looking for on the Gul Tiger~ I don't know an exact number but it's estimated 50-300. I would expect higher, as honestly, these are very common kits to come by. Especially on YJ, you can almost always find at least one. I see them often going for around $40-$50 per armor. I haven't seen many built ones for sale, but I honestly don't suspect they'd lose much value. Maybe $10-$15. Doubt they'd manage to go without bids lower than that! Ah okay, thanks Han Why so many variations of d-style blade liger but none of the others? I believe it is a licensing requirement to have at least 20 recolor releases of a Liger kit. Hahaha, must be true Maethius I have a question... it's probably nothing but it peeked my interest enough to take some photos and ask; I got a new Gildy today (sadly missing his horns and no box/etc) but noticed that he was a different colour to my Genesis Gildy. I'm just wondering, is it just colour fading / yellowing or have I picked up something interesting? In person it's a lovely pearly colour, so if it's just yellowing damn it yellowed nicely XD I was going to paint him black with silver claws similar to the plastic swaps commonly seen between Gildy and Gilvy but... changing my mind very quickly. here's some comparison photos, obviously the white one with decals is my Genesis Gildy and the other one is my new Gildy. A possible good way to tell, is to look at the inside of one of the white pieces, or look at a part where it was blocked by another part. Usually, fading or yellowing because of environment, won't evenly cover the entire piece. So the insides of the pieces should be a normal color, or parts where it was blocked from exposure might not be faded. ... I hadn't even thought of that to be honest... well after a quick check, you may be right- it seems like some of the plastic is whiter than the rest. Ah well, I can go ahead and give him a new paint job then ;P Didn't want to ruin him in just the off-chance he might have been something special, I've heard there are a couple really... lame limited editions in the past, better safe than sorry You might want to give the pieces a good bath first in some gentle cleaner, in case it's something that has settled on the parts like smoke or something. I know there are a few recommended heavy cleaners for zoids parts, but I can't recall any, lol. 1 way can help to get the fading or yellowing away is put the parts/area into bleach and put them under the sun for 1-2 days. The place where the sunlight can reach, the the fading or yellowing will slowly get away. But sometimes the parts are too fading or yellowing, it won't/can't take all the fading or yellowing away. (and the worse for the Gil Dragon, many of it's parts are too big and too long, you need something big to hold the parts and all the bleach, but also able to let the sunlight reach them) Anyone know what happened to Darwock? His box is full for a while now. Gojulas do you mean bleach or do you mean peroxide? I think bleach makes parts brittle rhasputin, I did talking about Bleach, at least the one I'm using is print "bleach" on the label. Also, for what I've try so far, bleach won't cost damage to most of the Takara Tomy Zoids' plastic, as least not 2 days or something. However, caps better to left in the bleach no more than 3 days, if not, they may start to wash the caps' color away and become hard. is this a custom holotech or photoshopped? if not the latter, hooowwww do i obtain something like this glorious creature? It's a custom. I think they took the holotech HMM liger parts, and dyed them to match red hiyou's armor. is there an easy process for that? what about the CAS units since i know that they are darker by comparison is there like... bleach primer or something if you wanted them to be brighter colored? i seriously am considering doing something like that for the two LZs i want to customize based on puella magica

So far as I know there's no way to brighten a holotech color. You could get a much lighter color if you can find a transparent paint, though. Just layer it very lightly, it starts off light pastel. The more you layer, the darker the color will get. But Picopepin the question is whyyyyy would you want to ruin a perfectly beautiful holotech LZ?! jk that looks sweet, and you can just tell they put a lot of work into that. It does seem to be a holotech LZ that was dyed, at least that's my best guess. Looks like they painted the body pink, the teeth silver, the caps teal, and got the eyes blue somehow. RCM did something similar to a Crystal Red Horn seen HERE, with the use of Fabric dyes. Make sure you read the comments though. I would not recommend using his method on ANY HMM kit. Red Horn is a thick, bulky Zoid. Its smallest pieces are thicker than most average HMM parts, and he still had some warping problems. If you can find a dye that doesn't involve heat, it may work better, but the way he got those colors is very dangerous for a $150+ Zoid! He also noted fading over time in later posts; not sure if it's noted in those comments as well. This used transparent paints if I recall. These paints would be a much safer option, I think. I'm also assuming the Hiou has blue eyes by using transparent paint + the colorless eyes that come wit the HMM CP Liger Zero Box Set. They are not found with any of the individual CPs, only the box. that molga is the greatest thing to grace mankind so wait i could do this method* with like.. the eyes and cockpits of hmms too right? cause i have to make my shadow fox's purple and thatd be relatively easy on an already bright color. let me just make sure i understand though, you can change the color almost immediately with these transparent paints and no.. like.. priming? *not the darkhorn one I would not recommend using his method on ANY HMM kit. That Molga almost makes me want to get a Crystal Molga just to do something like that. But yeah transparent paints are probably your best bet- I got a set of the clear HMM Liger Zero eyes for my custom liger and using clear blue paint they came out a very nice colour, as if they'd always been blue. Thing is though, it can be hard to apply evenly because it is transparent- and even small amounts of extra paint can be glaringly obvious when dry. EDIT: Changing an already coloured trans piece is very difficult (and in most cases impossible), especially if the colours are opposites (orange to blue, for instance). By the time you manage to get it to the colour you want, you might as well have just painted over it with a solid colour. And apart from cleaning the piece before applying paint... I don't think you can apply primer on them without ruining the whole transparent thing XD Has ShadoWolfozo said, changing an already colored part isn't nearly as easy. The basic HMM Zero would be possible to color like a Hiou because it is mostly colorless by default, but I'm not sure you could get purple from orange. Test on a sprue first. It'd probably be a LOT darker, at the very least. Has ShadoWolfozo said, changing an already colored part isn't nearly as easy. Painted a large area of the sprue itself using both acrylic blue watered down and on a different area, clear blue. It might as well have been black- does not work very well at all. But, pico if you're looking for a set of clear ShadowFox eyes I have a set. I had intended on using them on a ShadowFox in the future (painted blue for a silver fox) but will probably never get round to it since he's not a favourite of mine. If you're interested, send me a PM yea ive made sure to test on the sprues first im too chicken to go in headfirst. that and i have no sympathy for my hasbros so i dish a lot of practice out on them now! oh man i might have to hit you up on that offer! im not 100% sure yet what my palletes gonna look like on that thing but im basically picking homura for shadow fox since it just makes the most sense anyway for a random purchase im not regretting it haha man i wish they did clear parts for hmm gunsniper leena :< praise be to godoka sorry if this has been answering, but where does one acquire a stand for their HMM models? I have no idea where to get one. Run a search for Kotobukia stands, preferably on places like ebay, HLJ and Amiami. Technozoids The Madthunder was also intended to be released as a part of the Technozoids line, under the name Thunder Tritops. However, the line was discontinued before the Zoid reached production. No production samples have ever been located, although a single photo in a catalogue revealed that the Zoid had been recolored in silver, black, and red." Does anyone have the image this is refering to of Mad Thunder re-colored? I might want to use it as inspiration to paint mine. I'm working on a list ( found here) of all HMM Zoids products released (excluding Z-Knights). I just now found that the Kotobukiya Direct Liger Zero Jager came with special painted claws (Supposedly? Looks pretty close to me, but ...) and I am wondering if anyone knows any other items not yet posted in this list? I just now found that the Kotobukiya Direct Liger Zero Jager came with special painted claws Anybody have a pic of these? Here is a picture of the claws, which apparently were also released with the Panzer kit? Must keep an eye out to see if they ever do this promotion again. Seems to be a shiny brass gold as opposed to the weird sickly yellow they normally have. Only reason I don't own any HMM Liger's is because of that god awful set of yellows and normal brass colors they use. The brass ones pictured look MUCH better. Question time: Trying to get my HMM Psycho Genosaurer to be the same deep blue it was in the anime...anyone have paint recommendations? Definitely agree with the claw colors, they're usually pretty bad. The exception being the Blade Liger Mirage which had just stunning claw/blade colors (at least to me). I am surprised to have never seen the Liger claws posted online. Looking at the Direct store this promotion is no longer in effect for rereleases, which is a shame. Wish I could help on the paints but rather inexperienced in that field. There are some pretty nice results for Tamiya metallic blues, but not sure they're the shade you're after. Kind of difficult to get something as saturated as it was in the show. Question time: Trying to get my HMM Psycho Genosaurer to be the same deep blue it was in the anime...anyone have paint recommendations? Leon, I've seen a lot of people discuss this, maybe this will help.. For the claws, just buy a $5 can of gold spray paint and re-do them. It takes like 5 minutes and you would be SHOCKED how much better it looks. I did this on an hmm style gundam kit, where the 'gold' pieces were just brownish yellow with glitter mixed in (it looked god awful) and omg just that 5 minutes of spraying the sprues made the kit look like a totally different animal. The gold one is, so far as we know one of a kind. Only one member has seen it, though yes, the light off-white of the Hasbro Schneider has sparkles unique to the Hasbro release. Seen most on that body piece there. It was extremely hard for the camera to pick up. Faint but clearly visible in person. (The kit is not blue, that is the lighting condition I had to use for the picture to take) Talking about stands again, I was wondering specifically which ones and where I can get them. I have no idea if a stand can work for an HMM just by eyeing it! Also, anybody have an idea if an HMM could fit in here? www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60241544/I'm thinking no, but I could be wrong. One last question, are HMM's roughly the same size as motorized models? I haven't seen pictures of them side by side so I'm not entirely sure. I think maybe a small HMM could fit in there. Most are similar in size. Usually less bulky, but can be taller or longer depending on how you pose the legs. In the middle of this image there is a light blue box with a gray Saber Tiger in it. I was wondering, does anyone know if these are the same figures that are often seen in plastic baggies or cardboard packages? ExampleAlso, how was the Ramar CD packaged with the Shield Liger? I find it peculiar that almost every single one on Ebay is without the CD, and wonder if it was just an over the counter deal? I like to get all my extras with my Zoids so would appreciate if someone could shed some light on what to watch out for. The blue box is "Zoids Collection Goods Series No.2", and contains all three of the Zoids listed. As far as I know, the blister pack figures and the bigger bagged ones from Amada use the same mould, although the colours may be different. There's also a smaller set of figures, which seem to be recolours of Collection Goods No.1. As for the RAMAR CD, apparently it's stuck to the inside of the box lid - maybe it's just more popular than the Zoid? Also, how was the Ramar CD packaged with the Shield Liger? I find it peculiar that almost every single one on Ebay is without the CD, and wonder if it was just an over the counter deal? I like to get all my extras with my Zoids so would appreciate if someone could shed some light on what to watch out for. That's pretty typical (in Japan it seems) of models with a CD/game extras; taking then selling the bonus item separately. Notice how often we see the Genesis clear Ligers or Desert Liger missing their respective discs. I assume it's for extra profits... perhaps Darwock could shed more light on that. Can anyone confirm that the Yamato Shield Liger DCS-J that comes without the Cannons is the American release? I had a seller tell me that the lack of weaponry is why the US run is cheaper. I'd also like to know when this potential run was? Same time as the Japanese one or later?

Again, sorry for spamming up the Recent Posts page. Page 26 is also missing retrievable, so this is the last post... finally. Nope... but I'm thinking that I might! Those are beautiful! I've seen a ruby red one that looked awesome. It looked like a true core. From what I have been told, they are sorta easy to make. Just boil a couple at 500 degrees and immediately drop in cold water. It gives them that effect. I kinda wanna try Didn't one of the holotech berserk fury models end up on yahoo japan? Does anyone remember what it sold for? I don't remember what the BF sold for, but I know I've seen a number of them on eBay and YJ in the past. My mother-in-law said that they used to boil and crack their own marbles, too. Wear eye protection, though! You've seen a number of them? I'm thinking of the HMM one that there are only 4 of? I think Maethius may be mistaken? There were only 6 Holotech Berserk Fürhers (the HMM ones, there is no other Holotech Fürhrer release from any line), and only one surfaced for sale on Yahoo Japan. If I recall it sold for the starting bid of around $1,800. Don't quote me on that number, it's just from memory. Correct; There are only 6 Holotech HMM Berserk Fury's that were given away. One is on display in Koto's store in Akihabara, so I guess that means there are technically 7. After seeing it in person, I would be willing to drop $1000 for it (if I had the money). It looks really beautiful. Sorry, I misspoke... I meant the HMM BF's not not holotech. Maethius I will remember that. I really wanna try it. I have to find out the size marble that will fit in my scionbreaker's chest. You could also use them as a slight display piece next to the models themselves. What's the link to the koto store? I've googled it and can't seem to find it Kotobukiya Direct link. It removes stuff from listing once it's out of stock, so if items aren't appearing, that's why. does anybody know which HMM command wolf is the cheapest or easiest to get? i really want the white and red one! I always thought the AC variant was better, since you get more with it. does anybody know which HMM command wolf is the cheapest or easiest to get? i really want the white and red one! The Command Wolf Brad (or Barad) version would be easiest (and possibly cheapest) of them of all since it just had re-release. Since it wasn't in picture you posted, CW Brad is similar to AC with darker and pearled colors. also comes all the weapons for Command Wolf, (stock guns, long ranged cannon, and AC unit). If you really want the white or red version, it'll take some looking due since neither of them has been in production for couple of years. That's the one I meant...lol. I always confuse those 2. But yeah, brad's is a better version. I can't decide between Snipe Master Limited (the orange one) and Snipe Master Bone (05 Toy Special). I really liked using this unit in Battle Legends. Which color scheme would look best next to my Flexible Booster equipped NJR? The only Snipe Masters I have happen to be those variants. The standard Flexible Booster looks great with either kit, since it is black and comes with white caps. I still haven't settled on which one will permanently be equipped with the Flexible Booster; they both look very good. On the flip side, the CP-25 Active Shield's dark green looks strange on the Snipe Master. I ported what I wanted from that to my Helcat Noir (which is not an exact color match but pretty darn close) My Snipe Master BU is currently equipped with all 3 Snipe Master CP's in an over-gunned fashion...when I go back home in February/March, I have to remember to remove some of the excessive weaponry. If you liked Battle Legends, Id say go for the BU. Owning a Zoid you played in a video game is kinda cool. Still, the Bone Sniper is still a good pick, and they are usually low price. Personally, I kind of prefer the colors of the museum expo SM. Be aware that a lot of the BU Snipe Masters kits had the orange caps with blue coloring. Have no idea what caused this on so many of them. Thanks for the help guys! Maybe I should just get both. I had never heard of that Zoid when I first started playing Battle Legends and ended up loving it. Ordered a CP26 Missile Seat, as I liked using those as well. Dumb question, but I read sometime ago on this site that the cp-19 bind unit could be used as a sort of replacement for the co-a1. Is this true and how? Personally, I kind of prefer the colors of the museum expo SM. Be aware that a lot of the BU Snipe Masters kits had the orange caps with blue coloring. Have no idea what caused this on so many of them. Ya...strangly, I have 2 orange caps with relatively good color, then 2 others that are faded and dull, and the remaining orange caps are this ugly color that looks like green and blue bled into them...the blue caps are more attractive anyway. I am using the 2 good orange caps on the claws and the rest is all blue. Also note that the Bone Sniper only has 1 set of caps and not 2 like the regular Sniper and BU. Can anyone tell me who makes the paint that was released in tandem with the HMM gojulas kit please? And where to buy it aside from YJA? I believe it was Mr.hobby paints that made the zoids colors. You can find them all over the place. Just google Mr.hobby zoids colors Thank you very much! I was able to find them and order them, much appreciated. Now for a harder one! Does anyone have any idea where I could order the HMM CP-011 Holotech Shield Liger armor? I'm aware I'd probably pay a steep price. I just can't find one! This month is going to be pretty chaotic for me, but next month I look forward to answering any questions people might have about the Battle Story/games/manga/whatever!

Just wanted to stop in and say thanks for archiving all of this! The thread has had a lot of obscure questions that might not have come up again, but were interesting to know! Lots of info not commonly found elsewhere.

This is probably the best place to put the "Hasbro zoids question" thread. So in light of recent events in zoids history-the legendary Gravity Rex- I wanted to ask a question or two. Are there some zoids that were exclusively created/dreamed up by Hasbro? Like aforementioned Gravity Rex? I am not talking re-colors of existing zoids, like the Hasbro deciding on a reddish-orange Blade Liger, compared to the NJR Blue Blade Liger, or the colorful Battle Cougar- that we also know had an OJR and Techno Zoids variant. Rather, I am just curious on zoids that Hasbro created and maybe Tomy borrowed, rather than the other way around? Were all the Gravity zoids originally Hasbro creations? Arent there a few others as well or am I thinking wrong...maybe Cannon Spider, Ray Saurer, Missle Tortoise? Just curious. Thanks. The Cannon Spider is another Hasbro Exclusive (and quite a cool looking one). I feel like these are also Hasbros? But someone correct me if I'm wrong! Cannon Spider Ray Saurer Power Mantis and Mammoth? Is that their name? I thought Ray Saurer was, not sure about others. They had color variants, of course, but kits? I know the Power Mantis and Power Mammoth were exclusively European releases. The only thing I can think of that was similar would be the Hasbro Ultrasaurus, the only one with the "width" package. I am pretty sure that the Gravity Zoids are not all Hasbro creations considering Saurer, Saix and Wolf were in Fuzors.. right? just the Rex. Zoids Fuzors was primarily an American production...with the only Zoids that appeared in the anime that never showed up on the Japanese market where the Gravity Zoids, so at least appear those appear to be a Hasbro idea that later got sent to Japan. Ignoring the Gravity Rex, there are 4; Saix, Wolf, Saurer, and Ptera. Ptera was the only one not seen in the anime, and was never seen outside of it's American release. And a good thing too....it kinda sucks compared to most Zoids, especially among the other Gravity Zoids. Fuzors (models and anime) came out in Japan after the American versions, so I'm pretty sure Hasbro came up with all the Gravity Zoids (and the other "new in Fuzors" critters like Missile Tortoise). I believe several of the more gimmicky Zoids from the end of the NJR were also reverse-imported from Hasbro, although I could be wrong. So here's my list: Missile Tortoise [rereleased in Fuzors] Cannon Spider Gorilla Tron [rereleased in Fuzors as Ray Kong] Ray Saurer Brachio Zilla [rereleased in Fuzors as Brachio Rex] Dimetra Ptera [rereleased in NJR as Dimetroptera] Leo Gator [rereleased in NJR as Leogator] Fire Phoenix [rereleased in NJR as part of Ligerzero Phoenix] Jet Falcon [rereleased in NJR] Energy Liger [rereleased in NJR] Gravity Saurer [rereleased in Fuzors] Gravity Saix [rereleased in Fuzors] Gravity Wolf [rereleased in Fuzors] Gravity Ptera Gravity Rex Power Mammoth Power Mantis "Power Kong" [probably a prototype or concept that never got released] "Energy Zaber" [as above, or an early concept version of Energy Liger] The HoloTechs and action figures were also Hasbro's idea, although similar things had been done before (and they fall under "variants of TOMY designs" anyway). Out of that list, I am not 100% sure that Leo Gator, Fire Phoenix, Dimetra Ptera, Jet Falcon, Energy Liger, Seismosaurus, Scissor Storm and Laser Storm were Hasbro creations....We saw every single on of those Zoids released in the NJR line first, with the exception of the Phoenix, which was only packaged with the blue Liger Zero. The rest of the Zoids on that list are most definitely Hasbro creations. Seismosaurus and his Blox friends weren't on my list, and I'd assume they were TOMY-first. But Zero Phoenix, Energy Liger, Leogator, Dimetroptera and Jet Falcon were released at the very end of the NJR (barring the Three Tigers), from October 2003 to February 2004. It's insanely hard to find concrete release dates for Hasbro Zoids, but note that the Hasbro Fire Phoenix (along with Brachio Zilla and some Gravity Zoids) showed up at a Japanese expo in July 2003, making Fire Phoenix a definite Hasbro-first design. Other reasons for suspecting all five were Hasbro-first: - These pics appear to be Hasbro mockups of the ripcord-powered ("Gravity") and air-pump ("Energy") Zoids, indicating that Hasbro was the one that designed those Zoids in the first place. - Not conclusive evidence, but Energy Liger and Dimetra Ptera were listed on the Hasbro website at least a couple of weeks before their Japanese release. - In general, Hasbro imports of NJR Zoids retained their NJR designation numbers (e.g. Hasbro Seismosaurus is #069), while Hasbro-original Zoids had strange numbers, usually over 100 (e.g. Gravity Rex is #114). The Hasbro Energy Liger was numbered #102, and Dimetra Ptera/Leo Gator/Fire Phoenix/Jet Falcon were numbered BZ-106 to BZ-109. - Hasbro-originals tended to be much more gimmicky - ripcords, transparent parts, electronic action figures etc. - so I wouldn't be surprised if the air-pump (Energy Liger), B-CAS (Zero Phoenix/Falcon) and TB-8 (Leogator/Dimetroptera) systems were their ideas as well. (Gairyuki used B-CAS as well, but it was released in August, so Fire Phoenix still predates it.) And just from looking at them, those five (particularly Leogator and Dimetroptera) seem to fit the clunky, oddly-proportioned Hasbro design style more than the stylised, detailed Tomy designs. (...Okay, I'll admit Energy Liger seems more like a Tomy design. Maybe it was a collaboration.) Remind me to thank you for that information later. I'll be sure to add that to the Zoids Wiki after my finals are done Thank you all for your information. Did not realize Hasbro thought up that many designs all on their own; I mean not borrowing Tomy and re-coloring. And yea Han the Cannon Spider and Gorilla Tron were my two last US in store/on shelf purchases back in the day..I am going to say on May 2, 2004, from a Dollar General. I love the Cannon Spider too, and I don't usually care much for the Blox zoids, but Hasbro did good by that one. So next question that I know has probably been answered before..Hasbro Store Exclusives. Now I know Toys R Us had some unique zoids to it (the thinner and much more flimsy boxes give em away): Zabat, Iron Kong, Lightning Saix, Shadow Fox. I think maybe Geno Breaker and LZ Schneider? Any others I am forgetting? Any other store exclusives? I am just speculating here/ recalling my fading memories of "back in the day" it seems like I found these only at Target: HT Zaber Fang, Red Horn, Death Stinger. I don't recall if they actually were exclusive to Target or if that was just my luck. But understand, I live about a half hour to the nearest city, and all we had/have is a Wal-Mart. My family made a once weekly trip to stock up on supplies/groceries. While the folks were shopping I would go over the zoids section with a fine tooth comb..I don't recall ever seeing HT Zaber Fang, Death Stinger or Red Horn there. Now those three I found at a Target in a much bigger city about an hour and a half away from me around Christmas of 2003. We only went shopping in that city a few times each year cause its so far away. I remember how excited I would be- that city had BOTH Target and Toys R US. I'd save my cash all year for those trips I remember embarrassing the crap outta mom one time at that Toys R Us. Had that buggy level full with zoidy goodness. That's also the day I refused to leave until a store manager allowed me to go thru that one lone Iron Kong's already open box with him standing there. Hey I WANTED that zoid but I did NOT want to get home and find stuff missing! We lived too far away to just return it the next day. And back then that $35 was the most I had EVER paid for a zoid. Yes I threw a fit but I won. And the Kong was mine! Ahem. Sorry just having all these great old flashbacks Oh and at my local (and other) Wal-Mart, I found these, not at any other store: Blade Liger, Spinosnapper, and Konig Wolf. Just have a lot of renewed interest in Hasbro zoids, I guess given all the recent attention to the Gravity Rex. Thanks in advance to anyone today. I have semester exit exams today from 0800-1400(2pm) so I wont get to check this for a while today. Wish me luck! was the Energy Liger a TRU exclusive? it has the same kind of box design doesn't it? i can't recall, i have the box sitting at my parent's place in a closet but not with me lol I don't think the Energy Liger was a TRU exclusive. If memory serves, I did get to see it at K-Mart when the line was dying down. I think Gojulas Giga, Liger Zero Schneider, Genobreaker and (maybe?) Deathstinger where TRU exclusives. I am certain for Schneider and Breaker (as I ordered this one from their then Amazon store). Also, didn't Hasbro technically take Energy Liger from Tomy for their Fuzors line? It was the only of the late NJR to see an american release/variant. I'm pretty sure the Death Stinger was not a Target exclusive, or an exclusive to anyone else, for that matter... as I definitely got mine at a Walmart. I want to say it was late August, 2004. My mom and I were transporting the stuff for my sister's dorm to her college (she was already up there for band camp) and we went into a Walmart, and I about had a heart attack on finding the Death Stinger. The box was a little worse for the wear (it had a piece of gum stuck to it, which was pretty gross, but everything inside was intact. I still have the box, it has part of the image torn off where I removed the gum.) I'm fairly certain that was also the same day I got my Gustav. (I'm oddly drawing a blank on what the other Zoid was I got that day... the Death Stinger was definitely the star that day, though!) I did get the only Death Stinger they had, so it's entirely possible it was a return, and maybe never was supposed to be in stock at Walmart at all. (Like maybe it was an exclusive for another store, and someone took it back to a Walmart. Wouldn't be the first time they did a weird return.) I will confirm that Geno Breaker and Liger Zero Schneider were Toys R Us exclusives, though. I recall begging my mom to take me to get those in October 2003. I also recall her getting very mad at me for begging so much. Heh. (But it all worked out, because they had some sort of "buy one, get one half off" deal going on at the time.) Lightning Saix was TRU exclusive, as that's where mine came from... and the Shadow Fox was, too, but mine came from Amazon.com (when Toys R Us did their online sales through Amazon.) Anyway, got one of the last Shadow Fox they had on Amazon.com at the time, too (had to beg for that as well, but SOOOOO glad I did.) Never had a Zabat or Iron Kong, let alone ever saw them in stores, so I can't state with any certainty anything about those. HT Zaber Fang, I actually recall seeing at my local Walmart at one point, but didn't buy it. (I did get one more recently, though.) Red Horn, I recall seeing a lot of them somewhere, and there weren't any Target close by at that point, so must've been Walmart or Toys R Us. Do recall a lot of Dark Horn, too. Never had the luck to come across a Blade Liger, either, but I do recall only seeing the Spinosnapper and Konig Wolf at Walmart... but not sure if they were truly exclusive, but I didn't see them elsewhere, for sure. Energy Liger and Gojulas Giga... unfortunately, the deal with these two is a bit more difficult. They were both released late in the line, and I will say at that point, Walmart stopped carrying Zoids altogether, so I didn't see them there... so the only place I *did* see them was Toys R Us. So not sure if it was so much that they were "exclusive" so much as it was that Toys R Us was the only place that carried them. (I also remember I got my Energy Liger for like... $7 when I got it... and got my Ketchup and Mustard Battle Cougar at the same time for $3. And I really wanted the Ultrasaurus, but didn't have enough money to get it. My dad actually went back later, bought one, and hid it until Christmas. I was so excited to get that one. :3 ) Also, the box designs had little to do with what store they were from, aside from what Command_Liger said about the really thin box materials for most of the TRU exclusives. I think early 2003, they changed the box design away from the black design they had been using, and went for a grey and light blue design. It made the boxes stand out a bit more, I guess? Pretty much every Zoid I bought in 2003 had the newer-style box. (The first one I got was Command Wolf Irvine. I almost died when I saw THAT on the shelf at Walmart.) Thanks to everyone for their post(s). Thought this topic would be a fun look back over some of the good ol days of Hasbro history. dark_command_wolf- I am not 100% certain if Zabat and Iron Kong were Toys R Us natives, but I do know that is the only store I ever found them in and their boxes are both are made out of a very thin flimsy cardboard, just like Shadow Fox and Lightning Saix. All of those also have the dark colored boxes. There was also this yellow Lightning Saix that was TRU exclusive. Even if I own the thing, it's still rather forgettable. I do recall having bought two, but mangled the second one for parts. i.imgur.com/rj6nk3o.jpg?1Thanks to everyone for their post(s). Yeah, and unfortunately it might be difficult to locate anything that would prove that they were or were not exclusives. (As I recall, even the Shadow Fox, when I got it online, did not explicitly say it was an exclusive, just that they had only 7 left, and that there were "more on the way"... by the way, there weren't more on the way.) The box material thing is definitely the most evidence, though... but real surprised they'd have used the flimsy material for the Kong, as that one is definitely a larger Zoid, and thus needed the support... oh, and on that note, the Schneider and Geno Breaker definitely DID have the more hefty cardboard... but again, since it was late in the line, they were possibly exclusives solely based on the fact that nobody else would carry them. There was also this yellow Lightning Saix that was TRU exclusive. Even if I own the thing, it's still rather forgettable. I do recall having bought two, but mangled the second one for parts. i.imgur.com/rj6nk3o.jpg?1 If I'm not mistaken, didn't the yellow Lightning Saix come with the Remote Control? If nothing else, that's a pretty spectacular thing about it. Unless they did multiple releases of it, that is. Yes it did. But I barely ever bothered with the remotes and I'm pretty sure one of my parents threw them out at some point. So yeah, no remoteless variants. EDIT: While I'm dumping random trivia, here's the post count rankings (as far as I can tell) for Zoidspoison and Pheno's: EDIT2: Aaand this: mine has to be the liger aero cp, I've heard of it at lost of places but havnt ever even seen a picture of it You mean this? that looks wicked sweet but no this was released back in like 2002, I had read about it on wikipedia Pretty sure this is the one you're talking about. A resin kit released at the summer 2006 Wonder Festival by a dealer calling themselves "まぁ、いいんじゃないか?", just like the box on Lionel's site (which is what started all the talk about Liger Aero CPs). Turns out that it's based off the Shield Liger BLOX, not the regular Shield Liger. (By the way, the cannons are by the same guy but meant for making a Blox DCS-J.) EDIT3: Lionel on the origins of the Iguan joke: Let me tell you an old story. A long time ago, on Zoidfans, was made a poll or asked the question : who is the strongest Zoid ? Major Kong, the legendary thrower of Evil Pegasus, irritated by this question, answered "Iguan". And then began the story. And after, every poll had the "Iguan" answer, even if the question was "where do you live ?" Yougest ones, you never asked yourself why Wyvern has the "Iguan" rank ?

To start adding to this thread; the brown-chrome Command Wolf is said to have 130 units produced by Leo-Shop for a convention in (Malaysia?). Does this make it semi-official, or purely fan-made like the Shadow Foxes and stuff?

Pretty sure they're "unofficial", although it can sometimes be hard to tell with convention critters. Does anyone know which NJR Zoids (and/or CPs) came with a copy of Zi-Report vol.0? (And yes, that seems to be the only volume.)

Would anyone know which issue of DHM this came from? It's supposedly from the Smack Zoids section but with Zoidspoison down I don't know where to find the issue it's from.

Most of the "Smack Zoids B-Part" pictures on Zoidspoison were just lumped into the sketches thread instead of being put with their correct issues, but let's see what I can find...
Nov 01: Tyrannosaurs Dec 01: Pterosaurs Jan 02: Wolves (including that "Command Wolf Mk-II") Feb 02: Ligers Mar 02: Custom parts Apr 02: Transporters Jun 02: Dark Spiner Nov 02: Zoid Cores Dec 02: Gojulas Jan 03: Birds May 03: X-Zoids Jun 03: Water Zoids Jul 03: Cyber Drive
(Some of these might be wrong, but I'm pretty confident on the wolf one.)
