WIP - Blox Otachi, Pacific Rim Custom.

After having some help from Chuckles, my creative juices decided to return and I have decided to create a Blox version (Unpainted because I refuse to pain my zoids) of the Category 4 Kaiju Otachi from the movie Pacific Rim.

After some tinkering around I feel like I've designed a suitable head based on Otachi.




I apologize if the photos are blurry, I had to take these from my phone as that's the only camera I have. If any of the Builders here have any ideas on how to better bring this to life I would love to here them.

Night 2 of my Custom, this will be a multi-night custom so as to not rush through it so much.

First time using my Neo-Blox pieces with my regular Blox pieces. I've noticed the Neo-Blox cores provide a stronger and more flexible base than regular Blox cores. Here are 3 pictures showing the Main body and tail frame I want to use.





The two side cores are going to be the front legs/wings and some where in the middle is where I'll attach the Hind legs. I hope I'm able to connect the head to the body using the joint connectors seen on Dispelow/Stylu Armor. Still trying to think of a way for a 3-Pincer claw for the tail.

Any thoughts or comments?

Wow, you just dove right into it, lol. Looking great so far, and I can't wait to see how it progresses (wish I had that many Neo blox pieces XD). For a build of this scale, I'd recommend assembling a tail claw from the pincers of Flyscissors (you'd need at least two of them). Alternatively, you could use three tails from Flyscissors, Leoblaze, or Demonshead.

Was still awake and did some fiddling. Took some trial and error but I was able to build a Pincer Claw Tail and connect my Blox Head onto a Neo-Blox Body.






Had to modify the body frame to get it work but since Otachi has a hunch to her I figured this turned out better.

Night #3 Found another Neo-Blox core and helped build out the Hump of Otachi to look for smooth. Also built the Wings and the Front Legs.




The wing and underside, pretty basic and generic but it works.

Wings folded up and feet switched into a pouncing position


Everything Built and Connected so far to give you an idea of how it's going to look.

Night/Morning #4 Sorry, I got distracted by my video games, that I actually didn't get a chance to work on Otachi till this morning. Today's work was the back legs and finishing the basic body frame.


She's ready to pounce on the Jaegar heretics!


Flight Mode. Was actually pretty sturdy to stand on it's own.


She's pretty long from head to tail claw and has a wide wing span.


All that is left is from final touch ups, like armor plates and stuff. Aside from painting which I won't do, what do you guys think should be done to bring this monster to life more?

I'm not gonna lie to you, right now I wanna know how many zoids I'd have to buy to make this
it's so much better than other blox.. by such a wide margin. I guess I should've given neo blox more of a chance

If I remember correctly it's all the neoblox cores from the 3 republic originals and 3 empire originals. The tail comes from my Chimera Dragon Fly Scissor. The head is a combination of parts from Leoblaze, Leo Striker, Buster Eagle and Demon's Head.

I'm impressed by the speed at which this was assembled. Truly a passionate piece of work. See if there aren't any armor pieces you can stick on her main body.

I plan to make her legs more bulky with armor and stuff. They need to look like they can support carrying a Jaegar in flight.
