Well, I've been lurking through here as a guest for the last few days and must say, the customs blew me away! ;D Amazing, I never knew they could be done. I promise to keep this short as I just have a few questions: 1) Does anyone have a few 'spare' zoids they do not mind selling for cheap to a new starter? 2) What is a good hobby store to look at for model kits?
Thanks in advance for your time!

Welcome new Zoider! Check Ebay for deals :] I got a complete heldigunner for $12 yesterday, shipping included. At the bottom of the main forum page you'll see the sale sections and in the few months I've been here, I've seen some good things go up there. Good luck!

Hey there sethulrik! Welcome!
For your first question, I do have some spare Zoids that are incomplete (have minor parts missing) that I'd be willing to round up. It'll take some digging though, haha.
For the second one, that really depends on your area.

Thank you for the kind welcomes and information. Argyle, I'd love to find out what they are, but I'd hate to have you digging through stuff and myself not be able to buy. As for area: East Texas...

Hi, Sethulrik... I harvested most of my spares through ebay as well. Look for lots with several used Zoids both for building up a collection and for starting down the road to customizing. I almost never find Zoids in stores around here, but I have managed to snap up a few interesting toys in the thrift stores to use for parts. Other places to get some parts (depending on what you are going to build of course):
Pens, bottles (caps), worn out appliances, burned out electronics, scraps from model kits, etc. Keep your eyes peeled for interesting shapes and details. Remember that a beat up toy for $1 might have a few interesting structures or detail bits. Hard to find, simple sources can really make a custom pop.

Thank you Maethius. And I have to say, you do beautiful work. I do plan on hoarding pens and caps and stuff, and will probably be trying to pull together enough spares and scraps to do customs on little ones first before tackling what I REALLY want to make.

Thank you, sir. That's a good plan; start with experiments and techniques on less important builds, then grow toward bigger or better ones. Best to cut your teeth on a windup kit before tackling an Iron Kong!

Yeah, my intention is to build two customized pieces for my wife and myself. A suped up Shadow Fox for her, and a decked out Genosaur for myself! And I know they are going to need a lot of preparation on my part before I get comfortable enough to tackle them!

I have a Berserk Fuhrer that's missing pieces (like a major leg mechanic piece, though it'll display without it, and some armor pieces), a Pteramander that is missing some parts and some minor details have chipped off, an Energy Liger that's missing its horn and tail (but otherwise complete), and the rest listed below are just parts:
Bear Fighter Command Wolf Brad
Oh! I almost forgot. I have an almost complete Death Stinger that's missing the top cover of its head (the blue and red part and the connectors). I'll post pictures when I can.

I've attached the photos. Of course, they're missing parts and the previous owner for the Berserk Fury super glued a part which has a separate picture (they did a terrible job). I'd also like to point out that BF's motor isn't functioning, so it'll have to be just a display piece if you want it. I can sell them individually or as an entire group. I think...$35+ shipping is a fair price? I dunno. ;D Attachments:

I'd love to get them all at once! However, I am currently strapped for cash, is there anyway you could hold them and find out the price of shipping as well?

Sounds good. I've no intention of selling them to anyone else.
