The important thing is, Sn!p3r has given such excellent validation for those feelings.

Im with Sn!p3r on this one, although maybe a bit less harsh. This is the kind of zoid that i would either buy in bulk tp fill out the hmm army (which i cant do because its so damn overpriced) or buy it to look pretty with all the new details and other fancy shmancy crap that koto added but its gonna take to much painting to get it to look its best. I'll just wait for the gojulas, thank you.

its just that they HMM company could have made another zoids like a dbision or a Gojalas even a rev raptor over this zoid which always shown it getting slapped around in the anime,i mean really thing about it no fire power, no close combat, not even a radar or somthing, this zoids is usless!

Why HMM-ify a zoid that's meant to be quite simple (which the original Tomy model captures), when Koto could instead work on some of the more complicated zoids and bring those to life? The Tomy Godos represents a Godos just fine, whereas there are so many tomy zoids out there that could better 'appreciate' a Koto re-imagining.

There's no such thing as a useless zoid. Only useless people.
No zoid is more deserving of HMMing than the Godos.
The Godos may not be the toughest or most popular zoid (hell, even I would like an HMM Rev Raptor more), but those glory hounds already have their share of gimmicks, from lights-&-sound to CAS. What does the Godos have? Zilch. Every time you try to give the wind-up Godos a custom makeover, it falls flat on its face. The Godos deserves better than that, because in a world full of it with Ligers and Saurers, the Godos is the zoids-equivalent to an average human being: not very fast or powerful, but gifted with incredible adaptability and strong in huge numbers.
Even going by physiology alone, the Godos' body design is closer to a human than that of any other zoid. When was the last time anyone saw an Iron Kong run bipedally without looking like some shambling goon? The light but solid bipedal frame, the thumbs-- the Godos is the everyman of the zoid world-- able to fit any role given to it, provided it has the right equipment. The stiff march of a wind-up toy does not do a Godos justice. Doing away with the motor altogether in favor of posing ability gives the Godos a chance to realize its potential as a analogue for the human soul.
And lets face it, if we were living in a world with real, working zoids, chances are, we would be piloting a Godos. Don't kid yourselves with fantasies of Saixes or Storm Sworders . . . you couldn't even afford a Command Wolf. The Godos is the perfect zoid for the average joe specifically BECAUSE it is cheap and simple. With that simplicity comes endless possibilities of customization to properly reflect the preferences of the pilot. If Bit Cloud hadn't ended up with the Liger Zero, he would be in a Godos. And he would STILL kick ass.

Even though it seems a bit over-priced, I do like the Godos as a model. Those fat legs make me smile everytime: Look a Zoid wearing bell bottom flares ! I think a few of Koto's choices have been odd (cough)CannonTortoise(cough) but I'm glad they don't simply churn out the usual stream of Ligers. Godos is not a tricked-out mega-death-dealing machine, but he is a classic. I'd take this over that Johnny come lately Rev Raptor any day. So I might wait to see if the price comes down, but I've now decided I definitely will buy one to sit with my HMM Molgas. Even if its just to do the Hand stand pose ...

I'll just wait for the gojulas, thank you. Well, the entire point of the HMM line is EXACTLY that; to take older, simpler designs and make them look pretty with new details. That is what EVERY HMM (Zoid or not) does. Godos has no firepower? The original had two basic configurations. The first had 2 forward facing, 3 rear facing (don't forget the tail) and 2 doubled-up heavy machine guns. The second added a side mounted heavy cannon and radar. Godos, without the HMM kit, had more firepower than half the Zenebas and Helic units of its day. In fact, it had roughly the same firepower as Dimetrodon (less the triple missile launcher). No radar? ... There it is! So much hate for poor Godos! It was chosen because it is iconic of the line, a good design dry run for Gojulas, and it's a staple of the anime. In my eyes, it's a good choice for Koto to create, and they did an excellent job turning a mundane kit into an attractive model.

You mean liiiiiiiike... Molga? Molga was pretty basic until the HMM came along. Different pokes for different blokes. For instance, I personally like Godos, and think Dibison is an ugly piece of crap. But I'm sure we can both agree, Gelder is the most fantastic, cool, useful, all-around bestest Zoid EVAR!!!!1!11!! ;D

By the way Maethius, a little bit back you mentioned a HMM Gojulas? Is this real, or just the paint thinner talking?

A recent hobby magazine (I think it was DHM) confirmed that yes, we will be seeing a Gojulas next year, if all goes as planned.

i feel something like a HMM Berserk Fury or Gairyuki would be awesome to see(just imagine the box art!). i would also think a HMM Seismo would be epic but you would have to win the lottery or something to afford it.

Eh. What I imagined for the LZ Schneider box art was a LOT better than what we ended up with.

a unique HMM Guysack type like the stinger special or something along those lines would be neat down the road as well. i feel the articulation you could have with the legs and tail would make for some great poses.

There have always been a number of Zoids that I think the HMM treatment could take from "cool" to "epic" ... for me there is a bit of magic in taking a less detailed kit and taking it to a higher level. Sure, it's great if you can take a kit like Seismosaurus, which is already well detailed, and make it HMM quality, but if they would do the same for a Gordos it would be impressive. Now, I would LOVE to see a scale-corrected Seismo, but that WON'T happen! I would also like to see a Giga redone so that it actually portrayed the menace it could have. For now, just happy a Gojulas is in the works!
OH! And, Sineater? Yes, exactly! Like Molga on talking thinner! (I'm going to airbrush my paint now, while cutting my Dremel good!)
