This is the only version of the Snipe Master that I have! Love the colors, but really wanted one in the Helic scheme as well. I do wish this Snipe had a few close-in weapons, though.

Today I have for you all another one of my Holy Grail zoids....one that I had given up on ever getting until just recently. I had attempted getting one on ebay, but the final sale price was well over $150...and if you've been reading my reviews this long, you should know that as much as I love zoids, I can't justify dropping huge amounts of money on just one model. But anyways, I now have in my possession one Mad Thunder! This guy is huge. Pictures don't do it any justice. You really can't grasp just how large the Mad Thunder is until you've built it and displayed it alongside other models, which will comparitively look puny next to it. Mad Thunder is so heavy that I have no doubt he can actually be used as a real weapon and that if you slammed him upside somebody's head, they would feel it. In that case, Mad Thunder may be the most practical of all zoids because he doubles as a model and as a self defense tool. I though my Seismo was big, but Mad Thunder is almost just as long (and without a long neck or really long tail to help) and just about three times as wide You can see the box here, which I am very fortunate to have in addition to the model. Fully built, Mad Thunder is just about as big as his box, and trust me, he's got a large box. And did I mention I find Mad Thunder one of the more intimidating zoids models? Two twin drills and and E-Shield...nothing is scarier than one of the largest zoids ever built charging right at you, and if doesn't trample you, it will gore you. Not firing safely from the distance like our friend the Seismo. Not a very good picture of the command center, which contains three pilots. All in all, one of the most awesome zoids ever released. I shouldn't have to tell you guys to pick one up if you get the chance.

I was so lucky to get one of these.. It's supremely neat. Sure its construction is insanely simple, but it doesn't NEED complex parts.. then it even has the CP beam cannon set!!

hmmm, no love for the mad thunder huh? Well today I have a much smaller zoid I'd like to review, one that was in Fuzors and in my opinion is a really cool model. Gravity Saurer! Now believe it or not I had a frustrating time trying to get this guy together. The instructions I feel could have been a lot better, or maybe the fact I was trying to build him in a dark room had more to do with the difficulty. Regardless, there were a couple parts that I had to squeeze together, and if you close the jaws they are hard to open again. But despite the negativity, Gravity Saurer is a really cool zoid. It looks fearsome, as all Spinosaurs do. Like Elephander though, I wish he was a tad bigger. Spinosaurus is largest carnivorus animal to ever live-a zoid equivalent of that would have been truly epic. He also likes to lean over quite a bit, so that he will always appear in a crouching, hunting kind of position. Not a bad look, but difficult to pose. Although this is a cool zoid, I can't give it a full fledged recommendation. I have found that the gravity zoids run a bit pricer than regular zoids, and although this is a cool model, I would concentrate on getting zoids you really need before this guy.

Spinosaurus was larger, but lighter overall, and lacking in the destructive power column. Tyrannosaurus might be 3rd in size, but he's still the Tyrant King in strength and durability.
Anyways, the Gravity zoids didn't have a lot of fans when they first came out. G Saurer was one of the lesser liked ones because of his unusual design. I've got the Wolf and Ptera from this line, and I love their looks. So apparently did Tomy, as they used the Gravity Wheel for Lanstag in the Genesis line.

I'll take dark spiner, but I must say this zoid isn't bad.. if they just fixed the legs so it wasn't plantigrade.. I mean plantigrade dinosaurs are bad enough, but bent over like that.. it looks like it's having a poo... well then the ridiculous missile launchers..

Ok - first to backtrack: Mad Thunder is awesome because it is simply HUGE ! Despite seeing it online many times, I was still surprised when it actually turned up. True, bigger is not always better, but in this case the sheer size is intimidating. The design is beautiful, I love how chunky and solid it looks, yet still being covered in details. If I had a spare Mad T (plus random parts, an extra room, time and some talent) I'd love to convert it to a land based air-craft carrier / mobile fortress with Command Zoids and Custom Blox all over it.
Back to G Saurer: he'll always be a poor second to Dark Spiner. But compared to say Spinosapper, it actually looks pretty good. I don't mind the pose, the head is unique and it is nicely detailed. Only complaint is there is a little too much black. What kills this Zoid are the gimmicks: gravity wheel and missle launcher. I avoided all the Gravity Zoids because of this, plus the fact most of the other G Zoids looked pretty clunky.

I gotta backtrack myself.... Madthunder: Excellent Zoid and excellent review of said Zoid! The only other two reviews I can think of for this guy are WIKD's and mine! Gravity Saurer: I never was one for the Gravity Zoids. The only one I ever had was Gravity Ptera, and I only bought it because at the time my collection was lacking in flying Zoids and it was on sale. I'll probably hold off on getting this one for a looong time; unless I decide not to or find it for around $1.

It's that time again folks....and today I have two more reviews! This first review is of a zoid that made an appearence in Zoids: Guardian Force...actually now that I think about it, I think both zoids I'm reviewing today made their first appearences in Guardian Force. Regardless, this is a zoid that doesn't mess around.... Death Stinger! Surprsingly, this guy still isn't too expensive and for his size, can be found at a relatively reasonable price. They may have produced too many Death Stingers, and as a result, the savings are passed onto us. The contruction is fun and involving, with the only aggravating part being the contruction of all the legs (remember cutting the guns out for the seismo? This is kinda the same deal). Death Stinger is a fearsome zoid. I'd recommend him just because of how cool he looks, but at his price, there really is no reason not to have one. Now my other zoid is.... Helcat! Anybody else underwhelmed? You shouldn't be. Helcat is a cool, well, cat. It's a shame we can'y make use of his most famous function, his cloaking ability, but as a small zoid, helcat is pretty cool. He's lightly armed, but you don't need weapons all over the place like Dibison if you have the ability to sneak up right behind your enemy. Actually, looking at this picture, Helcat is pretty decently armed. I take that back about being light on the weapons side. I think Helcat is a bit underrated, because he can easily take on zoids twice his size. I always hated fighting them in Zoids: legacy because they would be next to impossible to land a hit on. Helcat is a decent addition to any collection.

Death Stinger - a nice kit to grace your shelf (pretty solid, too!) but a great kit to get multiples of for customs! Helcat - In the days of armies of Ligers and Genos, it's easy to forget that, when this Zoid was created, 80% of Zoids were small wind-ups. Against it's own class, the Helcat carried four cannons designed for the big boys, and that, plus decent armor and speed, made him deadly ... even face to completely visible face. Also, get a 6-pack of these for customs.

-Death Stinger: It was one of the first Zoids I got whenever I returned to the hobby. It's definitely a favorite of mine, but I prefer the ZS color scheme. Shame those pop up less often than most other NJR limited Zoids.... - Atak Kat= LOVE When I had one, it was one of my favorite windups. Sure, everyone and their mother had one, but for good reason. This kit is AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Helcat (HELCAT!) gets great points for modifying the clamshell while still allowing it to be totes visible and recognizable. That era had a few of those from zenebas didn't it.. oh wow, deathstingers are very affordable right now, shipping aside.. I wish I could justify another, customize it into something amazing...
