hey that reminds me, now that it's year of the rabbit, isn't there a zoider here who does zodiac customs? can we expect a rabbit from that guy?

It's not the Year of the Rabbit until Feb. 3rd No base armor = not surprising. Koto cuts the cost of production and brings kit prices down by whittling out the base armor, which would just end up being used for customs anyway. They've done the same kind of thing with Buster Tortoise (no original cannon) and Geno Breaker (no original rifles). My only hope here is that they don't just focus on cranking out all the Liger Zero variant and neglect doing other kits. The Pteras seems to indicate they are smart enough to not merely have "the year of the Liger", for which I'm glad. On the other side of the coin, they went out of their way to create the often overlooked custom tail piece for the Naomi Sniper, as well as recast the entire color scheme, leaving several frames worth of duplicated, extra bits, again for custom. And then there's the Leena Sniper; they could have easily reused frames from the Red/Dark Horns and Shubaltz Tiger to make the custom, but they went ahead and created new weapons designs.

I guess they cut out the bits that aren't required/visible to make the main model look right, but always include anything that is visible/included on that model. I like that attitude. Of course, they DId include spare guns on the commandwolves, didn't they?

They did, but for the other models, they left the spare bits in instead of cutting them out. Bonus pieces ^_^

So I guess maybe they include/disclude extra parts... at their discretion? ^_^'

I think it depends if whether or not said extra parts share a frame with essential components.

/HMM Giga = flexy toes/fingers, real detail to replace blocky parts, perhaps a REAL GUN in the mouth? Swingy-swishy tail... would be pretty awesome!

The tail's already swing-swishy and I think a real gun would be illegal, lol

I think they meant instead of pretending there's a cannon molded into it, there would actually be a cannon... And uh, for the record, making guns illegal is a reeaaallly bad idea..
