Has anybody on here been lucky enough to play the demo copy? The launch date was originally today, but it got pushed back to Dec 3 due to customs issues, so I was wondering what thoughts there are on it.

I thought you might be interested, Dano. It seems that in order to have learned about this game early, you needed to be: A)Psychic or B)randomly type in Resident Evil searches to see if anything new is coming out. Also, there is still too little Rebecca Chambers merchandise.

It's had a fair bit of hype on Boardgamegeek.com - looks to be very similar to the Thunderstone deckbuilding game. Like other deckbuilding games, it's self-contained, and doesn't require each player to bring their own deck - all players start with a small, identical deck, and use the cards in it to buy more cards and fight baddies. The major criticism of the game seems to be that the 'visit the mansion' aspect is a little too random - so you could hit an easily-dispatched and almost-worthless zombie, or run straight into Nemesis. I'm keen to play it and I'll probably enjoy it, but I suspect that I will continue to prefer Thunderstone and Dominion. One of my colleagues at work intends to buy it, so hopefully I'll get a chance to play it in Dec/Jan... Edit - oh look, a flash demo thingy: www.bandaicg.com/residentevil/index.php?id=tt

I agree. Everybody hates on Rebecca. Will you do me the honor of bearing my child? Seriously, I cannot wait for this to come out, the demo looked good, and the rules read easily. But it is true that you risk flipping over Urobors Aheri on your first turn, but I think the mechanism is solid enough to hold up the game. Bandai also states they intend to support it with expansions that may balance out the mansion issues.

Will you do me the honor of bearing my child? Let's name it Rebecca. I wish they'd make an online version of this.

Hey Dano, did you get a chance to get out to Bloomington sunday?
Also, do you prefer natural childbirth, or sedatives?

I couldn't find the place. It was at some game store I'd never heard of. :< I did that flash tutorial thing though and it looks interesting.
You'd have to sedate me for that.

I finally got one of my copies and I love it! the game works well, and the box is very nice. The rulebook has some misprints, but the PDF one online is correct.
the Rebecca Chambers card makes me a bit sad, since she's not as useful as a single player.

Jealous... The UK release date has not yet been announced Yeah, BandaiCG isn't so good about international releases. From what I've heard, there's still no Battle Spirits UK release. The game's available on Amazon.com for about $10 more.

Thought I'd let everyone know-the second set, Alliance, is due out on the 22 of this month. I have it preordered.
