Definitely a toy-sized Gustav, with house/base compartments in the shell. They could get a larger trailer to accomodate a liger sized zoid.

HMM-ifying Gustav would deprive it of a lot of its charm, I think. Part of what I love about the motorized Gustav is that it can haul stuff, just as it does in the anime - you can pile damn near anything on those trailers and it'll trundle along without a hitch. Aside from the fact that there's not really much to articulate on a Gustav, stripping it of its motorized gimmick would take away what makes the kit so darn nifty in the first place.

Personally, I think Kotobukiya could come up with a cool Gustav if they wanted to, but going a bit OT, I wouldn't mind Kayodo coming up with a Gustav in scale with the smaller Revoltech Zoids.

If you wanted to be technical, the normal one would be anime-scale with Revoltechs... One zoid per trailer and all...

That's an idea, though something would have to be done about the 'giant-size' Gustav cockpit and pilot.
