Which Zoids setting is it? Anime, models, nonspecific? That'd help in figuring out more details, since the comflict's a mite different between 'em.
How'd they end up split apart, and do they know they're brothers and such?

Don't know the setting i wanted it to be between the republic and the empire. but a non specific one, i think should be good. No they do not know that they are brothers. I have a seen between them and their dad, in which they fight and something happens that they figure out they they are brothers. but after a massive destructive battle.

What helps me when writing a fan fic is layout some general ideas in something like notepad things such as: who your characters are (the brothers, the main villian, secondary characters, and so on), what zoids they pilot (Choose either your favorite zoid/s or something that you can actually travel around Zi in at a decent rate), what the overall setting is. then just kinda sketch out the details.
it also helps if you have a good idea about the time frame (i tend to go by a mix of the anime and modelverse timeline i.e CC/GF, NC0,Fuzors, Genesis); the later it is the more you can use.
it might be a good idea to choose a Big Bad if you will, some ultimate enemy that forces the brothers not only to drop thier loyalties to thier faction but also to bring them together, and it doesn't have to be the end, the climax of the story should be good.
