I'd also argue it completely fails at being a Dark Zoid (the innards should be the glowy bits, not the wings, and it's not the right kind of green anyway. I don't think it's supposed to be a Dark Zoid. Perhaps the color scheme is an homage to the OJR Dark Zoids but it's definitely not trying to fit in with them so I don't see how it can "fail" at something it's not trying to accomplish in the first place. No. The Black Redlers in the anime have a hideous-looking and compltely differnt head, as well as some extra weapons and tial blades. Its pretty fugly, actually. Yes, but the LTD Black Redler is supposed to be the Black Redler from the anime, this is just from the old days before Tomy started making new parts for LTD's. It's got the exact same color scheme and came out around the time of the anime.

Nice review, as usual.
WELL DAMN, I guess I have to get another flexible booster unit (Hammer Rock won't give his up), because that looks hell of sweet.
I've been on the fence about Black Redler, mainly because of the price. Maybe I'll try my luck on yj if it goes cheap enough...

Well, not too bad for a Zoid released in 2000, only for a convention, to 1000 units, and which didn't have the chance of his brother Blue CW to have a second release. I remember the Black Reddler and the Blue CW were the two first convention Zoids of the NJR, at a time were there was very few LTD Zoids existing. Another part of history.

People so often go "it's a Dark Zoid!!" over anything with black and neon green regardless of anything else about the Zoid - that fails remark is more directed at fandom than Tomy.
I wish we'd gotten more of these guys like the Blue CW...I wonder why one and not the other.
Oh, and for the Flexible Booster thing, I discovered something kinda amusing when trying to give a gunless Zatton (the Zunder one, not the Geruder one) some kind of weaponry. Flexible Boosters still fit on a Redler using the CP-09 connectors, leaving the FBU ones free to make it much easier to stick things (like CP-09) on Zatton.
I should take pictures of that someday. But which Redler gets the Flexible Boosters?

I wish we'd gotten more of these guys like the Blue CW...I wonder why one and not the other. Because Tomy hates Redlers and likes Command Wolves. Its a crazy bizzare conspiracy of mine based purely upon the lack of easy to get awesome Redlers Case in point: Genesis Redler and this Redler. I'm well aware that there was most likely a third point with Genesis Redlers, but it supports my theory. Which is complete nonsense, but better than other theories, such as that Wikipedia spawned Gilvader nonsense Either that, or Tomy found it easier to run off more Command Wolves as opposed to Redlers. Considering how many varients there are of them, I'd stick with that over my crazy theory Broken Chairs for the win regardless of crazy theories

Its a crazy bizzare conspiracy of mine based purely upon the lack of easy to get awesome Redlers I doubt Tomy hates Redler, afterall there's 3 LTD Redlers plus the standard NJR release, there's a lot of Zoids out there that never even got one LTD release. Huh?

The Vader and the speculation and the Star Wars... Redler's real advantage over Command Wolf is that you can stack them better.

Lovely lovely limited, but that price is prob too steep even for me.
Soo no Genesis or Black Redler. I've got the OER Zolkon, Z2 Redwing & NER poiple one. I actually prefer the poiple colours on him than the other 2 tho.
BTW, those boosters look really cool on Redler. They also look quality on Redhorn- and I've got spare Sabre Tiger guns on the sides of mine too.
