For no apparent reason, I've decided to start randomly selecting a model from my collection and giving it a review, as well as a short rant about my opinion as to what kind of role it plays in the war on Zi. Let's start with Saicurtis. Saicurtis is a small wind-up that takes at most fifteen minutes to construct, and thats doing it the tedious way. He's rather straight foward with an interesting walk(more of a wounded dragging action) that only uses four of his six legs. A knob under the wings causes them to raise and lower as he "walks." Saicurtis has an open-air cockpit, and thus losses pilots like crazy. As you can see, my personal Saicurtis is equipped with CP-09, which I feel is better placed on him than on the far more naturally threatening Redler, not to mention its the same shade of gray as Saicurtis's parts. In my own humble opinion, I've never envisioned Saicurtis as a combat zoid. To me at least, he appears to be a mobile Anti-aircraft cannon. His appearance suggests that flight was only meant as a form of transporting him from base to base, while his actual job is to dig in and pepper enemy Pteras and Raynos as they pass over, softening them up for an arial battle against the Redlers or a full out assualt from an Iron Kong's missile barrage. Therefore, while the boosters don't add much, the cannons certainly increase its effectiveness as an anti-aircraft zoid, allowing it to wipe out some zoids instead of merely damaging their armor. That's all for now! Stop by this thread next sunday for another random zoid model review!!

I always imagined the Saicurius to be a Zi version of a golf cart.

Looking at that guy sure brings back memories. I used to have a OER Scarab, but I lost him .

Hey, guess what? It's Sunday, time for another of Adamassc's Random Reviews!!! This week's victim is Rev Raptor!! A relatively simple model, Rev Raptor is easily assembled in about ten to fifteen minutes, depending on how careful you are. One of his neater features is the oscillating Counter Scythes on its back. By default, these are Rev's only real offensive weapons. It's nice to see a kit as small as Rev Raptor do more than simply walk about and wiggle its arms. it should also be noted, Rev Raptor doesn't like to stand. An interesting note, the Battlestory remarks that Rev Raptor is an organoid system zoid. In the anime, Rev Raptor is cannon fodder. Just one of many variations that occur between the two. Equally interesting, I'm currently creating a custom Rev Raptor based on my fanfiction.

Ah, Rev Raptor. There is a zoid that holds a certain respect from me, being the second zoid that I brought
As for Saicurtis, I think its a relitively early zoid, so it might be the earliest Empire airial zoid, designed to lay waste to flocks of Giloders or something like that while they got around to making Reddlers. I guess after the Republic made the Double Sworder it got more use, as the Double Sworder I guess could double as troop transport, having two pilot seats, so Saicurtis could be the anti-transport zoid the Empire used to attempt to stop them. But, considering the Double Sworder was based off the Saicurtis, it can't work in reverse

Heh, your revraptor is as dusty as mine. No idea why the little guy attracts so much.

another interesting note about the weaponry on the model and the anime is that in the anime the cannon fodder Revraptor mainly used its guns more than its big blades from what i saw of the anime when it aired here, the guns where mounted on the elbows of its arms, the guns that dont come with the model, which was alil annoying but since they could have graphted them onto the moulds for the silver spru. yeah mine seams to attract conciderably more dust than any other zoid well appart from zabat, oh and the bloody sticker just didnt want to stay on mine, took ages for them to stick and even now the insignia stickers i have in the thighs of it like to prie ther edges up.

I'm sure they used their blades quite often in the anime. Well they would, if they did'nt get hammered so often. There was that one episode in GF (with the ghost boy and his Helcat), when Van nicked a Rev Raptor and did a fair amount of damage with the blades.
As for the model, I do like him but his jittery walk and blades are quite laughable. But for a basic zoid, that is a lot of movement for your money. For me, he looks more like a raptor than any of the models do.

I never liked how the blades can't reach very far on either side, but it doesn't seem to be a problem. Yeah, those guns, they looked a lot like smaller versions of W-sprue guns.. but in real life the only thing that fits on revrapter's arms are gun sniper's triple-barrel vulcans.. and I don't know if anything would fit atop the blades like they had in the anime sometimes

Shield Liger's guns fit on RevRev's elbows as well.. and a Rev Raptor isn't a Rev Raptor unless you got Zabat's useless CP on it's back..

why's that? still agree that zabats cp is useless though. I think the blades on the model are differently proportioned than in the anime, theres no way it would be able to use those blades without falling over.

just because I did a normal review is no reason to believe you're safe from another of Adamassc's Random Reviews!!! This week, I'm talking about my one and only pre-Blox SS zoid, Megaleon: Megs here gives articulation over mobilization, leading me to believe that these SS zoids are the true predecessors of the Bios, NOT the Blox zoids. Here he is in combat mode. Megaleon is a scout zoid, with some strike capabilities. For the most part, Megaleon was built to slip in and out of enemy territory unnoticed, all the while collecting data with the various sensors placed on his eyes. If he should become detected, Megs can open up his his twin concealed cannon and use an enemy soldier as a shield, letting him escape to where larger forces will be waiting. That's all for this week, but don't get too cozy, cause one day, you'll be sitting in your little house, all safe and snug, and you'll look over in the corner, and I'll be there, doin stuff. Mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
