Bio Raptor Commander as I have seen it called is just a limited, slightly recolored bio raptor- dissapointingly so. I don't have the standard version yet so I can't compare, but i'm told there's a fairly small difference between the two.
Bio Megaraptor Nightglow, or Bio Megaraptor "Glearmd" as the box calls it is a much more drastic LTD, being a clearish greenish color, which glows in the dark nicely.
The Good:
The commander is really cute, barely sheds, is an quick, easy build and um.. sickeningly adorable? Oh yes, it's a cheap, common LTD. The claws were painted by tomy to a metallic gold, instead of being left as crappy, raw plastic like on bio tyranno.
The Glearmd is both fairly inexpensive and common as a LTD, it DOESN'T SMELL LIKE THE ORIGINAL BMR! w00t! In fact it barely smells at all. It glows, is slightly transparent and it's a BMR.. so it's got all your BMRy goodness. Oh yes, and it comes with a cute little Zairin figure you can paint in pink and mock... (now if only it was made strippable like that one SRDX figure )
The Bad:
The commander really is lame as far as a LTD goes.. very slight recolor, no stand, nothing special included. It tends to shed the hip armor a little. The eyes are very.. blah. They're barely visible and should have been painted a brighter red imho.
The nightglow's gold paint on the glaws flakes off at a glance, just like on the original. So one must be gentle handling or trimming the flash on the claws.
The Ugly:
BMR sheds like no one's business. Sneeze on him and he'll explode in a flurry of hip boosters, leg armor and vents.
The zairin figure is nice and fairly detailed, I iamgine the Ruuji figure is good as well. I included pictures of the Zairin figure with a tomica bladey and a AA battery for size reference. The glowy BMR doesn't seem to glow for long with the lights out, I had to keep putting them on for a minute or two to take pictures. It may be that I didn't "charge" it up well enough either.
The rather neat thing about the glowy BMR though is you can see through parts of it, like where you attach some of the armor with pegs. You can see the black pegs through the clearish armor. Sadly, it's not straight clear, but has a distinctly greenish tint. And, like all BMRs to grace the planet it looooves to shed.
For some reason my two raptors came shrink wrapped together. This was my first time ordering from HLJ, so maybe it's something HLJ does to its orders? The wrap was too lose to be original manufacturer's wrap I think.
Oh yes, don't mind the comic relief.. it's waaay too late at night for this XD
Conclusion: Recomended if you decided to skip out on the normal versions and want to give bio zoids a try, or if you're a bio nut/completionist that likes glowysheddypointydeath.
