Alright, this thread has been rightly cleaned up. Henceforth, all band/musician/ski11z talk can go find its own thread! --- ANYWAYS, latest things I've found: Chavez box set (90s indie noise) Mastodon - "Leviathan" (METALLLLL) Neil Young - "Living with War" (MY HERO) Michael Hedges (dood could shred on the acoustic)

For the past week and a half, all I've listened to is...Dir En Grey and Metallica.
Now I have dreams in the form of old black and white movies from Japan. They all speak Japanese now. Help.
Me. ~~~ Dir En GRey may not know any English, but they sure picked big words. I.e:Machiavellism. Ouch.

I'm not exactly sure, but they are a recent rock band who does alot of music that sounds like beach music, or 50s pop music, yet still sounds modern. They also put alot of dial-tone and beepy noises in their music. They're pretty cool.

...Never heard of em. What do they do? Oh, and you said that you like Zappa? Well, have you ever heard of Dr. Demento? It was a radio show awhile back that played parody/wierd al kind of music. He did a song on there called "Yellow Snow" and I think he must have written it on an acid trip...it's pretty funny, though.

Yeah it's funny. Zappa didn't do drugs (but he smoked ciggarettes) and wrote "Don't Eat The Yellow Snow". He has some absolutely gutbusting material. Check out Joe's Garage Acts I,II, and III which is a 3 disc set all about doing-the-nasty and various related things.
Dream Theater is a Proggressive metal band with great drummer. Best album is Images and Words.

doing the nasty? Kinda reminds me of copulation blues....a whole collection of 50's, 40's, 30's music about the said doing-the-nasty. Pretty hilarious.
Anyway, I finally got Peter Schilling's Major Tom (Coming Home) on my Ipod, at long last. *listens to it for the 600,000,000,000 time*

Anyone here like System of a Down? ;D I pretty much listen to rock and metal, but I throw in something as out there as classical every now and then. I like Disturbed, Godsmack, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Weird Al, Buckethead, Santana, Metallica, Black Sabbath...etc....^^;

System has some good stuff here and there, but I hate the lead singer 's voice (the one who sing's on Toxicity). The Guitar player should sing. Gotta love Maiden!
