(I apologize if this is in the wrong board.) Hey,all, I just got my Zoids: Full Metal Crash game and Freeloader from Playasia.com this afternoon. The problem is, I cannot get the Freeloader to work, and I can't play my game!! I tried all the loading methods in the instruction book, but none work! Can anyone help me out? Did I get the wrong version? The inside of the instruction book says 'Version 1.0 European Version'....So did I get the wrong thing, since I live in the U.S. and own a U.S. Gamecube? PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!! Thanks,CommandLiger

you might have a faulty disc, have you checked the disc for any scratches, smudges, ect.?

Yeah, for it to be "factory sealed" it has several smudges on it,as well as a mysterious stain/residue around the center of the disc. So, do you think I should try to buy another Freeloader? (From another website?) Also,is there a particular website anyone trusts? Would this 'Version 1.0 European Version' play on my U.S. Gamecube,if it was in good shape? Or, should I try to somehow clean this disc? Is there a safe way to clean this disc? I mean,it's in worse shape than my preowned game! Thanks a lot, CommandLiger

if you can find disc cleaner, like discdoctor, or use a soft cloth, slighty damp.
if that fails email playasia.com about the faulty freeloader, they may or may not send you a new freeloader(im not sure i haven't gotten a faulty disc). thus if that fails buy a new one.

I'd just go to playasia and file a product return. The product is clearly defective.

Just send the item to the store like you'd send the item to any other person overseas. If you've never sent an item overseas before then I'm not too sure when to start.

That's just it: I have NEVER sent an item overseas before! I live in the U.S. and this Freeloader came from China! I just don't know what to do.... If you were the one who had this, would you try to send the Freeloader back, or would you try to clean it? Thanks, CL

It's no different than mailing in the US beyond filling out a form (likely the little green kind) and paying a bit more...if they ask you what type of shipping, regular air should do. The form looks scary but is really just write where it's going, who it's from, what's in the box, and how much what's in the box is worth.

European version? That's not going to work on a US GameCube, ever. If the freeloader its self is failing to boot, that there is your problem. The disc is fine, I can almost guarantee that...

Freeloader and Action Replay are region free. Any copy should work on any gamecube.

They may be region free, but I think the different video systems might cause a problem. Then again, maybe not, since the Freeloader lets it change that anyways. All I know is that my US Action Replay works perfectly, and since it's a cheat device as well as a Freeloader, it's probably the best way to go. Assuming the same version is still available, of course. Bet it's also cheaper by now, too, especially on eBay.
On a related note, a Freeloader for the Wii is already being created. Yay, soon I'll be able to play Full Metal Crash again!
EDIT: Oops, just remembered, no freeloaders on eBay. Just mentioning that you'll need one to play a game will get your auction booted.

Thanks, digitalman and KAndrw. Anytime I try to use the stupid darn Freeloader, a red bar appears across my T.V. screen and says,"The Disc Could Not Be Read." I just don't know what's wrong...

They may be region free, but I think the different video systems might cause a problem. Nope, the freeloader website when I checked it back in the day clearly stated in no uncertain terms that any Freeloader should work on any gamecube so as to help American's play Japanese games and whatnot. Just return the Freeloader and get another or a Gamecube Action Replay. Personally I would've gone with the AR in the first place anyway xp
