I'm still very interested in a recast of Descat or Gravity Rex, if he ever gets around to those! I'm not even sure where the ethics and laws fall on reproducing out of print kits... but I want to customize them without killing actual collectables. Like pirating a game that's unavailable, there can't be any quandry with it! If they want your money, they'll re-release the product properly. If they spend money fighting something that didn't cost them money, that means a lawyer made them do it We, the discord group, has a caster name Gingy. She is working on the Descat recasting, repopulation(Breeding) program, and has one to work with. She has health issues and many projects, however should be finished up by the end of the year. I also can't wait. I hope to make a Guylos Empire Dark Descat. As for Gravity Rex it is another case. Unless someone who has one will let a caster borrow it, this will never happen. Twotoys aproached the guy with Gravity War Tank and was turned down. Those with ultra rares and prototypes do not want to part with such valuable items for fear of never seeing them again! This is understandable. I have a prototype sea striker action figure. It is one of a kind and has 2 pieces that are broken before even being purchased. Twotoys offered to help and even I am hesitant. While my high dollar transfighters are being recast by him and all. It isn't a trust issue on the prototype. It's more over it no longer being the only one. However on Rex and war tank if I had them 1 of 4 casters I know would be getting a project to do. Yes likely Twotoys since I work with him would get 1st dibs.

That's fair. You also don't have to deal with someone who turns out to be untrustworthy for you to, unfortunately, never see it again. Sometimes boxes just get lost in the mail, and this has always been my fear when dealing with 'loaning out' items I can't afford to (or just aren't possible to) replace. The smaller the item the easier it is to lose. My first HMM Gojulas got lost and had it not been a freaking HMM Goji I never would've gotten it! They only found it because the box was so noticeably large. (The company I bought it from had used a customs forms packet that didn't have any adhesive, so the papers just fell out along with all identification.)
I think someone was working on at least 3D modeling a Gravity Rex and, iirc, were even doing motorization tests in 3D to try to make sure it could still walk. I don't know if that project is still going, though.

Exactly when loaning these transfighters out to Twotoys I told him one at a time. He wanted all in one shipment. 1st the box was already getting big. He had a Seismosaurus and a Battlesaurus plus a few gifts and then 4 borrowed items. Yes I am worried about postal loss moreover than the person I'm dealing with. I explained this to him. Plus the 1st shipment my transfighter I had 1 built and 1 mib of was the 1st to go over for the process. He is now finished and I've seen full replicas. However there are a few other projects in this group before a return shipment. The royal ring and the gaurdian pendant and double drill dog(clone shown) being chromed in a few places to round out the full list. Once completion of all. These and a chromed Gilly are on their way to me and we can move on to the next transfighter and wavelet. He isn't sure he will continue my thought process with the wavelet and winglet. But I still at least need some of the parts chromed. He don't have to copy them if he doesn't want to. I told him let's see how the double drill dog goes. If it fails I will order a translucent version to help recoup loss of mold being made. However if successful and there is a wanting there of he may consider the other 2 and continue. Mainly this was just about the transfighters. It's my own personal desires to expand the line by the other 3 and possibly even a 4th. Play it by ear.

well sort of. If you look at the top of the page the image is posted on there is a share button. When you hit it a drop down selection comes up. I use the forum one.

I was just thinking about the Gravity Rex and other kits being made from scratch in 3D as opposed to scanning. It would be possible. It would work best, of course, of someone to post detailed pics of the runners on a contrasting surface, possibly a self-healing mat ruled in CM.

I would say that's unpossible, but I have seen people do amazing jobs just eyeballing things. Makes me wonder if they can just do photorealistic drawings too.

Well earlier in this thread I showed Twotoys external charge partial cannon. It was just from a drawing in a magazine. He hired someone to make the model for him to sell. I do not know what this cost him, but it illustrates how clever some people are. Given enough information there are some who could pull that off.

Remember that rhasputin, on this form, actually owns and has built the Gravity Rex. While I can totally see not wanting to ship off such a rare Zoid, disassembling it and photographic the parts would be cool... I know that depth would be difficult to create, but most of those pegs and holes are standard sizes (3.5mm for small rubber caps; other standard sizes are 4mm and 6mm) making some of the task less daunting.

From a deep web searching of the gravity Rex I learned that hasbro dumps dead lines in south seas countries. I forget which ones. Anyway. They hold auctions to sell off these items. Those in the know go to and bid on lots. The winner that recieved the lot that the Gravity Rexes were in had 2 full Gravity Rex and 1 partial. He sold 1, kept 1 and from what I understand is unsure what to do with the partial 1. He can give it to the cause for molding reproduction. Or sell it to me,even better!I will do what must be done to make it possible. This is all I know about the where when and why of the Rex. Basically the same happened on the gravity war tank. Somehow it wound up in that shop the guy who shared on here obtained it from. He is tight lipped on where the shop is and the shop owner in turn is about where they got it from. Somewhere there is a group that scavenges these dump auctions. We all need to become big friends with the ilk. Then maybe they will pass them our way. Too many times now lines were canceled before I could obtain what was promised. So if you know who has the gravity rex. Touch base with them. Find out if they were the seller or the buyer in the case of it. If buyer. Find out from who and move up the chain to get to the partial one. If seller then ask if they still have the partial and if they want to part with it.

What Snowflake said. I really don't see the issue with recasting kits that have been OOP for, what, 30 years now? He's not competing with TT, he's selling like 15 copies of a niche product to a market of superfans.

The guy who bought them in the lot posted here (I thought? But search isn't showing results) and had little knowledge of Zoids. IIRC he sold them all along with a variety of other rare kits, like the Blade Liger LIMITED (overseas version of black impact, only one with silver claws) after folks helped him identify what all he had. I can't find the original post but he had given me permission back in the day to post his photos and comments on The Iron Bible. * The page mentions selling of one, but the situation evolved past when the page was posted, and sadly, I don't know if the info of the other 2 listings still exists. I remember 3 listings and I wanna say one went for $1200 or so and can't remember the other's sale price. That being said, it looks like Mishbott's fan project to make their own version is coming along quite nicely!
