Leon35 asked me for comparison pics of the two versions of King Liger in the other thread, so here they are. Side by side: OJR canopy sans peg: RCZ canopy with peg: The shades of white look the tiniest bit different in the two closeup pictures, but that's just my phone struggling with the white balance and the positioning of the light source. The Wikia page states that the two have different colors for some reason, but to my eyes, they look exactly the same. I don't understand where this idea comes from. I never built all of the RCZ kits because I already had the OJR versions of several and only bought them for spare parts and completionist OCD reasons, but the line was generally pretty good about recreating the OJR models. If anything, it's disappointing that the RCZ comes with this peg that the original didn't have.

Thank you!!! When I get home, I will have to check and see if my King Liger really is an original. Here is a pic of King Baron - it has the same peg! I wonder why the Baron mold was recreated instead of the Liger mold? And if they used the Baron mold, why didn't they release the Baron's weapons??? farm2.static.flickr.com/1163/1344509612_52d191d4f0.jpg

My guess is either the King Liger mold is damaged or it was permanently altered when they released the King Baron. Or maybe the King Baron parts were supposed to be released as a CP unit in the RCZ and they just never got around to it before the line tanked.

There has a bit more different between 2 of them other than pin.
1. The battery cover on the belly, the RCZ version is using the screw to lock it when the OJR version is slide backward to open.
2. The main body was already built for you and they put glue to make it tight, so you may see some extra glue at the side of the body.

Well, yeah, all the reissues past a certain point in the NJR came with that stupid screw. I'd totally forgotten about the fact that the gearbox came assembled, though. Or actually, I keep forgetting that you had to assemble it for the smaller gradeups.

I agree with the screw cover. Got stop kids from eating/losing batteries I guess. Interesting that the peg on the head is from King Baron. Is that the only mold difference between King Liger and King Baron molds besides the extra parts and screw cover? I might have to look.
