Hello! Otterly here, with that new member smell! :3 This is more of a 'how would you do it' thread. I got the idea when my husband's old gundam fig fell and one of the wings broke off, I saw it was a good size for my gun sniper and figured it would be cool to mod a GS into a dragon with either gundam waltz wings or Buster Eagle. Of course a paint job will be done but thats for later.
So since you all seem to have done more custom zoids then me, how would YOU turn a GS into a dragon?
Also completed builds so far, HMM Liger Zero, Snider, Naomi's Gun Sniper, Shadow Fox. WIP, Panzer with possible camouflage paint job, Leon's Blade Liger AB done in pearl red.

The easy solution would be to just affix the wings onto where the old missile pods would go... but that's pretty easy. Ir really depends on how elaborate you are wanting to go and what tools/skills you have available or can develop on the way. Gun Sniper is a pretty inflexible kit, so you might be limited to what you can do as your first (or an early) custom. If you want to retain flexibility in the wings, you should look for a pair of large ball ball and socket joints (the Blox ones would save you a lot of effort) that are found on kits like Disbellow (or however the heck it is spelled) for the shoulders/hips... Normal Blox are too... blocky... and they have no strength at all. Now, as for affixing them, choose your favorite adhesive. My arsenal of glues is usually: #1 Loctite Stick-n-Seal (nasty vapors, long drying time, but super strong, semi-flexible, and attaches almost anything to anything else), #2 Pro-Weld (fast weld, will turn most model/toy plastics to goop in seconds, so be careful with it!). I almost never use super glues, and I only use Gorilla Glue on rare occasions. Also, for strength on larger models, I have begun using small machine and micro screws... they can be difficult to work with, but if they are done right they can essentially bullet-proof a kit. Hope any of that is helpful!

A gun sniper with buster eagle wings? Sounds like Yoshi's "dragon" final smash. Nah I think BE wings would be toooo big, but the wings on a 1/144 gundam would be just fine. Not familiar with 'gundam waltz'.. are you sure you're not talking about one of the gundams from the movie endless waltz? possibly wing zero? with the feathery wings? Actually what might be perfect is.. get some spare flyscissors wings. They actually put out a custom clear blue version of flyscissors wings. Then you have blox to connect it

Thanks guys, I already looked into Fly Scissors and I think they would be too small, Busters wings can somewhat fold up and as a blox kit already ball jointed. Rainbow Jerk was another idea but it has wings common on prey birds, small, rounded and tight primary feathers where as BE is a predatory bird, larger wings, spread primary feathers. I also looked at Pheonix but it's style of wings is less organic then BE. :\ I'm trying to avoid zoid wings like Battle Cougar and Raynos because they would just detract from the HMM model altogether. @snow yeah i'm not into Gundam too. XD BUT it's the Main(?) gundam from endless waltz with the angel wings (can robots be angels??), it's a 1/144 too. My only issue with that is the wings are 4 parts, and would require a more complex setup to make use of they full range of motion. Also I have a decent amount of tools and paints, need a new dremal, and I can pick up things as I go too. I want to avoid a serious paint job as I'm already having trouble with my Blade Liger. ;-; I'm not allowed an indoor paint booth where I live and the one time I did it outside the F-ing maintenance guy THREW IT AWAY!!!! Yeah. EDIT: I really like the wings on this Gundam but it's a mini and no amount of digging online has turned up a larger model of it. link

You can find a 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero Custom (that's the one you're thinking of) aka Wing Gundam Zero Endless Waltz Version but it's not going to come cheap. Even if you get the old HG version. But seriously.. gun sniper is tiny, you're sure you want wings that big? Well..

yeh i think you should get smaller wings and not use buster eagle cause they will be to big. Plus the weight would bring it down knowing the knee joint of the HMM gunsniper. But honestly, putting wings on the GS wouldn't look like a dragon. It would feel more like Buster Fury fuzors since it's a raptor type. maybe give it a longer neck and tail?
