Man, a lot of that concept art is really awesome. The Bio Zoids, especially. Pity about the text stuck over some of it!

*grumbles* they mixed up the skeletal comparissons for Bios Kenthro and Tyranno.
That aside, the pre-pros do make it sound more interesting; it's always bothered me that the bio zoids never had any plot-appeal; this 'would've, could've, should've' portrayal makes them seem somewhat more appealing.
The "Arousal" pic with the woman scientist and the bio zoid fetus bothers me. The fact that it bothers me also bothers me.

Wish I could have that kind of talent... I like most of the original concepts better than those implemented (I think that's normal for most series) but especially the un-bio look of the bio-zoids. Just can't beat the classic concept.

That image with the word arousal reminds me of some anime from the eighties.
The word arousal with that image is just wrong. Waaaay wrong.

Interesting timing! I just started to watch the Genesis series (up to Ep.10 now), and yeah, the "original" concept is quite different from the anime series from what I can see. The one thing that didn't change much is Kotona(o), who serves as the sex symbol. It is interesting to see Ryan Ryan (probably pronounce Lan Lan in Chinese) is switched to Ron.
Any more materials from this?

I always like this "pre-concept" artworks. I really like to see how series change from the main and orginal idea to the final result.

I love the random Engrish and the Bruce Lee inset in that one picture. Hee hee.
As I haven't seen much of Genesis myself, I can't really make a comparison between the existing series and the stuff outlined here, but I do sort of like the idea of a big epic storyline in a more modern setting with large cities, etc. I also agree that the Bio-Zoids look much Zoidier here than the final versions do. Bio-Diplodocus would've been awesome.
Best of all, no Mii Re Re! Hooray!
But yeah, these images are awesome. I love seeing early concept stuff like this and wish there was some floating around for CC/GF and NC0.

The original biozoid designs still carries the straight forward mechanical contour look, which i personally prefer.

And that behemoth wrecking through modern cities would be awesome. ;D Unfortunately this is are the only materials i could get my hands upon. Its just to provide info of upcoming series to regional distributors and carry their new toyline.

Well, just finished the whole 50 eps of Zoids:Genesis, gotta say the storyline was better than TF: Armada and Energon, and the word Genesis does fit in, especially towards the end.
But backtracking to the concept work, I wonder how would the producers fit in with the "genesis" theme.
And I do wonder if a group of good-looking guys (ala G:Wing) will have a better storyline than a group of wild bunch.

I agree that some of the art is awesome, but again agree that its a shame there's text on it. I like a lot of these concepts, but I would hate it if they used these characters. I for one was happy to see the change in Genesis where zoids are piloted, majoratively, by adults. Even seaoned old timers. I thought this was a wonderful contrast from the other series which have them mostly piloted by kids, or at least people that started piloting them so wonderfully at such a young age. I prefer pilots that seem like they actually -could- have exerpience piloting a zoid, even if those zoids are supposed to be living things.
Still, thanks for showing this (I would have loved some whitz wuf in the series, other than Sword Wuf)
