TOTAL CONTEST VOTES
Tilly's note: These are public to prevent fudging...and me screwing up counting (please tell me if I did). However, if I find out someone was harassed about their vote(s), I will be Not Happy.
BEST IN SHOW Paladin, with 20 votes total. (Langosta was a close second with 18.)
Prizes will be dealt with ASAP - I have to poke the donating mods. Any entering people who didn't win something and like miniZoids, PM me. I have a few spares >_>.
Ped, Rant, Lionel, Maethius: if you want a custom title thingy, tell me.

Congratulations everyone!!!
Wonderful work on all your parts. Even though there were FAR fewer entrants this year, I think these were some of the best customs our forum has ever seen. Paladin is more than on par with the God and Holocaust Ligers, IMO.

Congrats to everybody, and thanks too for this great contest and the votes. Argh ! Two votes only... that's the paint category, it is not something I'm working a lot on a custom.

I'm kinda biased, cos I was brought up with the OER Zoids and stories. So if I was allowed to pick a Best in Show, I would have picked Langousta. It suits the OER line perfectly. If anything, its probably too complex to be an OER.
The problem with an OER theme is the paint job, though applied very well, will always be very simple. So it was always likely to lose out to something more dramatic like Shogun Kong. I think thats also why the Kong just edged out Wraith Bone. It may have been better painted in terms of details and difficulty, but Shogun was simply more eye catching for me.
I think next year we should have a theme: - Zoid Racing - Construction Zoid - Dark Zoid - Ultimate Liger That kinda thing ...

Racing sounds great by me. I've always thought that was a neglected thing in-universe. We had sports battles, sure, but I'm sure there'd be pilots interested in testing how they could soup up their Zoids for speed.
Though Pheno's annual contest has always been free-for-all, maybe there could be some mid-year...thing. Especially in the form of a combined fanfiction-custom-fanart contest.

You're welcome, Charlie... something about that story just kinda got into my heart, I guess.
I just wanted to note that one of my votes would have been different... I hadn't seen Lionel's working innards photo until AFTER my vote was in! That is just awesome work! In the future I will wait until the last week to vote, so that there is a fair opportunity to view any additional photo pages of the entries. Several people had gallery pages locked for the first week.
Again, a wonderful effort by everyone!
(If the next contest has a theme, I may be at a disadvantage... I'm an old fashioned Zoider, and my mind is stuck in military land!)
